Raise a glass to Murray (Murr the Blur) Stenson. It's the 2nd official annual Murray Stenson Day — Seattle cocktail legend. 🍸

Every September 22nd we honor Murray, an icon in the bartending world. This year, we're featuring a delicious Corn ‘n’ Oil cocktail. This rum-based Caribbean cocktail became one of his specialties.

A bit about Murray...

🍸 He was named Best Bartender in the World at the 2010 Tales of the Cocktail.

🍸 Murray was featured in The Seattle Times and The New York Times for being a leader in the cocktail scene.

🍸 He brought the ‘Last Word’ cocktail back to prominence. The Grand Chartreuse Monastery where monks make green chartreuse even have a portrait of Murray hanging on their wall. Though the cocktail and ingredient popularity has exploded thanks to him, the monastery continue their traditional practice, keeping chartreuse a rare gem!

Murray passed on September 22nd, 2023, but his legacy lives on through his craft, excellence, and the kindness he showed to everyone he served. So at IL Bistro, we toast to Murray today, and every day. Especially when you order the Last Word.
