Breakfast sandwich people, do we have a treat for you. Our Egg Sandwich features a Japanese-style egg soufflé, pepper relish and white cheddar on two thick slices of Bakersfield's “Good’wich" bread. Adding bacon and sharing are both optional, with one option more encouraged than the other. 🐣

It's been the best first week meeting our neighbors and cutting into pan after pan of freshly baked Tahini Rice Krispie Treats. Thank you for the warm welcome—we promise plenty of warm baked goods and smashed red potatoes in return, forevermore.

Great for zooming in on and admiring via social media and even better for ordering as today's lunch: Bewick's Roast Beef Sandwich, made with Halal beef, horseradish pickles, lettuce, red onion and garlic mayo on ciabatta. ☀️

It's time to wake up and smell the coffee. ☕️

We know our neighbors remember Groundswell's blend, so—with the help of the fine folk at —we made our signature brew a riff on it. It's a little heartier. Chocolatey, nutty, and rich. We think you'll love it, and can't wait to pour you cup after cup.

Our chef and owner Nicole Pederson-Bates grew up in Minnesota and learned the art of pancakes while working front of house at a certain Midwestern chain restaurant. Later, while serving at Tulips in St. Paul, she would stand in the back of house and watch the staff break down tenderloin—until one day the chef interrupted her observation to ask when she was going to enroll in culinary school.

After pancakes (and school), she spent her career cooking in fine dining kitchens of Chicago, New York, Vail Valley, and France before making her way back to the Twin Cities in 2019. The decision to take over the former Groundswell space came from a deep love for Hamline-Midway (where she and husband/co-owner Andrew also live) and the dream opportunity to take the culinary zeal she's always had and direct it toward her own place and her own people.

We (Nicole, Andrew, and the very impressive team members we've watched thrive during our soft opening) cannot wait to see you soon. Starting right this minute, we'll be here *almost* every day—we're closed Tuesdays!—from 8 am until 3 pm.

1. We see your questions! (And hear them, when you knock on this papered-up door.) The answer to the big one, AKA our opening date, is... very soon. We promise. ❣️

2. When you have more intel on question number one and want to invite your favorite people on a breakfast date, remember: it's pronounced "Buick." However, we'll still happily welcome you in if you can't get it right (the first, second, and million times thereafter).
