All last week, we asked each other: “Are you feeling it yet? Is it hitting you?” Yesterday - our final day of service in Catskill - it hit us, and the tears finally came.
The day started with a reminder from the great Dave Wurth to “soak up the love.” It ended with a message from our new landlord about how much we’re all looking forward to what’s to come.
In between, we did what we always do: we served up lattes and cinnamon buns (25,000 and counting!) and burritos and smiles, only this time, we took the time to soak up the love - for each other, and for the people of Catskill and beyond who came through our doors, for the first time or the 300th, bringing balloons and flowers and well-wishes and promises to see us soon.
I have so much gratitude, not just for every single customer who saw what Willa’s was all about, told their friends, brought their family, and kept coming back, but also for our team, past and present. Individually, they made my days brighter. Collectively, they made Willa’s into something so much more special than I could have imagined.
Thank you. We hope to see you soon.
