“The three biggest things when at the hospital are the diagnosis itself, not being able to sleep, and food security. I can’t fix the diagnosis. Sleep? Parents are always on…but food? We have a remedy for that, we just had to figure out how to get it to the bedside so that parents could stay with their children.” - Jeff Dorman
Our September 7 Brew Heroes are Jeff and Sam Dorman of New Haven, Connecticut, founders of the Feeding Families Foundation. Their mission was born from personal experience after their four-year-old daughter was diagnosed with leukemia and their family spent significant time in the hospital.
During that difficult season, the Dormans experienced firsthand how quickly everyday necessities can become overwhelming for families focused on caring for a sick child. Something as basic as finding a meal often became an added challenge during long hospital days and nights.
Believing that no family should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from while supporting a loved one, Jeff and Sam created the Feeding Families Foundation. The organization provides meals directly to families staying at hospitals, helping ease one burden during some of life's most challenging moments. Their generosity also extends to healthcare workers, ensuring those who spend long hours caring for others have access to nourishing meals as well.
Through every meal they provide, Jeff and Sam are serving kindness, comfort, and hope to those who need it most. We're honored to celebrate the incredible impact they're making in their community by recognizing them as our September 7 Brew Heroes with a $500 donation and free 7 Brew drinks for a year.
