⛳ DAY 10 OF 14 — HAZELTINE NATIONAL GOLF CLUB

📍 Located in Chaska, Minnesota, Hazeltine is a championship course right in our backyard that has hosted some of the biggest moments in professional golf.

🐄 A course once mocked for being too difficult. After the 1970 U.S. Open, nearly half the field shot 80 or worse in the opening round. Runner-up Dave Hill famously joked that Hazeltine needed “80 acres of corn and a few cows.” The criticism helped spark major changes to the course.

🐅 Tiger Woods made history here — by losing. In the 2009 PGA Championship, Y.E. Yang became the first Asian-born golfer to win a men’s major. He also became the first player to overcome a 54-hole lead held by Tiger Woods in a major championship.

📏 Monster holes that test the best. Hazeltine’s par-5 third stretches 633 yards, while the sixth measures a staggering 642 yards. These holes demand more than distance — strategy and ex*****on are everything.

🇺🇸 A Ryder Cup victory Minnesota will never forget. In 2016, Team USA defeated Europe 17–11, earning its first Ryder Cup victory since 2008. The electric atmosphere made Hazeltine one of the most memorable venues in modern Ryder Cup history.

🔄 The course was redesigned for the Ryder Cup experience. Ahead of the 2016 competition, Hazeltine changed its traditional hole routing to improve spectator viewing and tournament flow, creating a unique setup for one of golf’s biggest events.

🏆 It’s coming back. In 2029, Hazeltine will host the Ryder Cup again, becoming the first U.S. course to host the competition twice.

🌊 Minnesota beauty meets major-championship difficulty. Rolling hills, mature woods, natural wetlands, and strategically placed hazards make Hazeltine a true test of course management — not just power.

And now you can experience championship golf without leaving Rochester.

🍻 Bring your crew, grab some great food and drinks, and take on iconic courses at X-Golf Rochester.

🏝️ DAY 9 OF 14: LINKS AT TURTLE BAY — ARNOLD PALMER COURSE

A few things you might not know about Turtle Bay:

📍 Located on Oʻahu’s North Shore, Hawaii — where championship golf meets some of the island’s most dramatic coastal scenery.

🪖 The course has a military past. During World War II, the property was used by the U.S. Army. Parts of the current course once served as a landing strip. Hard to imagine standing on a tee box where military aircraft once landed.

🌊 The ocean hides until the finish. Despite being on Hawaii’s North Shore, the Pacific is visible from just the 17th hole on the Palmer Course. The view arrives late in the round — and it’s worth the wait.

🏝️ Two completely different courses in one. The front nine takes inspiration from Scottish links golf, with wind, sand and open terrain. The back nine shifts into tropical scenery, weaving through ironwood trees and around a protected wetland.

🐦 A wildlife sanctuary is part of the design. The course wraps around Punahoʻolapa Marsh, a roughly 100-acre wetland and bird sanctuary. The natural landscape isn’t just scenery — it shapes the routing and adds another layer to the experience.

⛳ The 17th is a bunker-filled beauty. This signature par 4 features nine bunkers around the hole, with panoramic ocean views from the green. The shot looks spectacular, but the sand can make it a serious scoring test.

🏆 It’s hosted some of golf’s biggest names. The Palmer Course hosted the PGA TOUR Champions’ Turtle Bay Championship, where major champions and tour veterans competed on this Hawaiian layout.

And now you can see how your game stacks up against it — without leaving Rochester.

The upgrades at X-Golf have made courses like Turtle Bay look and play better than ever.

DAY 8 OF 14 — 14 DAYS. 14 COURSES.

🏆 PGA NATIONAL’S CHAMPION COURSE

A few things you might not know about PGA National:

📍 Located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

🐻 The Bear Trap has a permanent warning sign — and a bear statue. At the 15th tee, a bronze bear marks the start of the infamous stretch, alongside a Jack Nicklaus quote: “It should be won or lost right here.”

😈 The 11th hole deserves its own scary reputation. It’s a long par 4 with water guarding the approach, and tour players have struggled here even before reaching the Bear Trap.

🌬️ The wind is part of the defense. South Florida’s March winds can turn club selection into a guessing game, especially when water leaves almost no room for a miss.

🎯 The course was redesigned to be more playable — but don’t let that fool you. Jack Nicklaus reshaped the Champion Course in 1990 so its fairways and greens would accept more shots instead of constantly repelling them.

🏌️ The fairways have been made even tighter. Recent course changes reduced fairway and approach turf by four acres, leaving an average fairway width of roughly 28 yards.

And now you can see how your game stacks up against it — without leaving Rochester.

The upgrades at X-Golf have made courses like PGA National look and play better than ever.

Every day, we’ll show you another course worth putting on your X-Golf playlist.

🏴‍☠️ 14 DAYS OF GOLF COURSES — DAY 7: SPYGLASS HILL GC

📍 Pebble Beach, California

🏴‍☠️ HIDDEN FACTS YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW:

• Inspired by Treasure Island — Nearly every hole is named after a character or location from Robert Louis Stevenson’s legendary novel. From “Billy Bones” to “Long John Silver,” the course is a pirate’s treasure map disguised as a golf course.

• A course with two personalities — The first five holes run through coastal sand dunes with stunning Pacific Ocean views. Then, at No. 6, the scenery shifts dramatically into the towering pines of Del Monte Forest.

• A legendary bet — When the course opened in 1966, Bing Crosby bet Jack Nicklaus he couldn’t break par. Nicklaus shot a 2-under 70 and won the bet!

• One of the architect’s favorites — Robert Trent Jones Sr. called the fourth hole his favorite par 4 he ever designed. Its green is roughly 55 yards long but only about 30 feet wide at its narrowest point.

• Even the best struggle here — At the 1999 U.S. Amateur, not a single player in the field broke 70 during stroke play. The scoring average hovered just below 80!

DAY 6 OF 14 — INNISBROOK RESORT (COPPERHEAD COURSE)

📍 Palm Harbor, Florida

🐍 THE SNAKE PIT IS NO JOKE. Innisbrook’s famous closing stretch of holes 16–18 has been one of the toughest three-hole finishes on the PGA TOUR since 2003. Since 2000, it has accounted for more than 65% of the course’s total score over par.

⛳ NOT YOUR TYPICAL FLORIDA COURSE. Designed by Larry Packard, Copperhead features rolling terrain, elevation changes, and tight, tree-lined fairways—a very different look from the flat, water-heavy layouts many associate with Florida golf.

🏆 A TOUR TEST SINCE 2000. Copperhead has hosted the PGA TOUR event now known as the Valspar Championship for more than 25 years, challenging some of the best players in the world every spring.

🔥 THE CLOSING TRAP

* 16 — Moccasin
* 17 — Rattler
* 18 — Copperhead

Three holes. No room to relax. One mistake can change everything.

📊 COURSE FACTS
• Par 71
• Over 7,200 yards
• Home of the Valspar Championship

🌺⛳ 14 DAYS OF GOLF COURSES — DAY 5: PRINCEVILLE MAKAI

Today, we’re heading to the north shore of Kauaʻi, Hawaii, to play Princeville Makai Golf Club — a course where the views are legendary, but the history behind the holes is just as impressive. 🌊🌴

🔥 5 FACTS YOU PROBABLY DIDN’T KNOW

🎬 1. A Hollywood connection
The mountain overlooking the course, Mount Makana, became famous as Bali Hai in the classic movie South Pacific. You can see this iconic landmark from the course’s signature seventh hole.

🏌️ 2. This course helped launch a legendary career
Princeville opened in 1971 as the first solo golf course design by Robert Trent Jones Jr., who went on to become one of the world’s most recognized golf course architects.

🌊 3. The signature hole is a serious test
The par-3 seventh stretches approximately 213 yards from the back tees, with a dramatic carry over rugged coastal terrain. The trade winds can push shots toward the ocean, making club selection and trajectory especially important.

🗺️ 4. It wasn’t always an 18-hole course
The original property featured 27 holes divided into three nine-hole layouts: Ocean, Lake and Woods. The modern Makai course combines the Lake and Ocean nines, while the Woods layout became a separate course.

🌧️ 5. The course gets an incredible amount of rain
Princeville averages approximately 78 inches of rainfall annually. In 2024, the course completed a $3 million refinement project that included bunker renovations, drainage improvements, cart-path upgrades and turf-care

Day 4 takes us to one of the most visually stunning golf courses in the country, known for its incredible lake views and one of the most unique holes in golf. 🌊

📍 Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course — Coeur d’Alene, Idaho

Famous for its floating island green on the 14th hole, Coeur d’Alene delivers a golfing experience unlike any other. Surrounded by the beauty of Lake Coeur d’Alene, this course combines breathtaking scenery with a memorable challenge.

The floating green moves, requiring a boat to retrieve golf balls from the water, making it one of golf’s most recognizable features. 🎯

• Home to the famous floating 14th green
• Features stunning views of Lake Coeur d’Alene
