Today marks Navratri Ghatasthapana, the beginning of Sharad Navratri, a nine night Hindu festival dedicated to the different forms of Goddess Durga.

Ghatasthapana marks the ceremonial start of Navratri, when a sacred kalash is established as a symbol of divine presence, abundance, and new beginnings. Over the days that follow, families and communities observe the festival through prayer, fasting, music, dance, and celebration.
