Learning About Inclusion at The Inclusive Bean! ☕️

We had the sweetest visit today from The Prairie School first graders! They’re learning about differing abilities, so they spent the morning at The Inclusive Bean learning about disability, kindness, and inclusion.

Students rotated through different activities, including:
🥤 Enjoying smoothies while talking with one of our trainees and learning about their disability
🎨 Creating disability awareness and kindness artwork
📚 Reading Goldie’s Tasty Tacos from Dr. Nicole Julia | YouTube Learning | 5x Author series, about a goat who is missing a limb

Each student also went home with some goodies from The Inclusive Bean a classroom copy of the book! 💙

We loved having these young learners with us and watching them ask thoughtful questions, learn from our trainees, and celebrate what makes each of us different.

The world sees limits. We see possibilities. ✨

VISIBLE RACINE IS HAPPENING TODAY! 📸

We’re excited to welcome Emma Widmar to The Inclusive Bean today for Visible Racine, a community photography project celebrating the stories and identities of disabled individuals in our community. ❤️

Emma is a disabled writer and artist, and throughout her residency at The Inclusive Bean, she is inviting disabled members of the Racine community to have their portraits taken and share a little bit about themselves through a short biography.

🕙 Today, September 19 | 10 AM–2 PM

The portraits will become part of an ongoing gallery at The Inclusive Bean, creating a collection that helps showcase the people, stories, and experiences that make Racine what it is.
