🍔 BIG THINGS ARE HAPPENING AT BOB’S GRILL!

We’re looking to extend our hours into the evening, and to make that happen, we need to add a few more great people to the Bob’s crew!

We’re looking for dependable, hard-working people who enjoy a fast-paced restaurant environment. Day and evening positions may be available.

Pitt State students — this may be the perfect job to help get you through the school year! We’re used to working with students and understand that school comes first, so we’re happy to work around class schedules.

And for everyone who’s been wanting Bob’s for supper… help us spread the word!

Bob’s Grill begins a new chapter.

After 23 years, Bob’s Grill is changing ownership. The Bowman family is honored to purchase Bob’s Grill from the Parsons family.

For nearly 20 years, our family has been blessed to own and operate restaurants, including the Nu Grille in Fort Scott. We know what it means to care for a community restaurant, and we’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue the tradition that Rick and his family have built here in Pittsburg.

One thing we want everyone to know right away: we have no plans to make changes at Bob’s Grill. Out of respect for Rick, his family, and the owners before him, and all the years of hard work that have made Bob’s what it is, our goal is simply to continue serving the great food and friendly service you’ve come to expect.

Throughout July, we worked side by side with Rick learning the business. We quickly discovered what many of you already knew, it often took two, and sometimes three, of us just to keep up with everything he does behind that grill! His work ethic and dedication have earned our respect, and we’re thankful for the time he invested in helping us make this transition.

And before anyone asks… yes, Bendy is still here!

Thank you to Rick and the Parsons family for trusting us with Bob’s Grill. We look forward to meeting many of you in the weeks ahead and are excited to become part of the Pittsburg community.

Here’s to the next chapter of Bob’s Grill!

Twenty-three years ago, we were a young couple with five little children and a dream. We had no idea that buying Bob’s would become one of the greatest blessings of our lives.

To our customers, you have never just been customers. You became family. You celebrated life’s milestones with us, comforted us through hard times, and allowed us to be part of your lives. We truly love and appreciate every one of you.

This little business helped shape our family in ways we never imagined. Our children were raised surrounded by people who encouraged them, believed in them, and loved them like family. They had so many “extra” moms, dads, aunts, and uncles cheering them on. That love and support helped shape them into five amazing adults, a doctor, a principal, a finance director, a teacher, and an emergency management director. Along the way, they each found wonderful spouses who became part of our Bob’s family, and together they’ve blessed us with fourteen incredible grandchildren.

We hope those grandchildren will always remember coming to Bob’s, especially Papa’s famous Mickey Mouse pancakes and all the love that came with them. I have a feeling Papa will still be making plenty of Mickey Mouse pancakes for them in the years ahead.

So is this goodbye? Maybe not. Maybe it’s simply, “See you soon,” as we begin the next chapter of our lives. Bob’s will always be a part of who we are, and so will all of you. While our roles may be changing, the friendships and memories we’ve made over the last 23 years will last a lifetime.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for every meal shared, every conversation, every laugh, every hug, and every memory. Thank you for believing in us, supporting our family, and making Bob’s so much more than a restaurant. You gave us a lifetime of memories that we will cherish forever.
