Okay, Monday is getting a little shake-up at Freight! 🌯

We’re moving pizza night to Sunday nights, and Mondays are now for $10 chicken wraps with fries. Choose our grilled chicken wrap, chicken Caesar wrap, or buffalo chicken wrap. A whole wrap and fries for just $10.

Our chicken comes directly from a farm in Lorain County. We cut it in-house, tenderize it, and marinate it ourselves. This isn’t some micro- or bioengineered mystery chicken; we know where it comes from, and we put the work into making it good.

If you’d rather have a different side from our menu, you can swap the fries for an upcharge.

I’m sorry to do this to you at 10 PM, but look at tomorrow’s lunch lineup. 🤤

We’re serving from 11 AM to 8 PM, and our $10 chicken wraps with fries are ready for anyone who wants a lunch they can barely get their hands around. Then there’s the Dalton Farms garlic bologna; warm, savory, and pressed between golden, toasty bread.

And if you’re coming really hungry, meet Jacob’s Mac Express: a burger loaded with creamy mac and cheese and BBQ sauce running right through the top. Our Burger of the Month is in the lineup too, with melty cheese and a pile of fries on the side.

The two questions I’ve heard most this week are: “Are you coming in today?” and “Who’s in charge at Freight House while you’re at the farm?” 😂

Harvest has me at Burnham’s most days right now. I’m already working about 14 hours a day, and trying to split every day between both places would make it closer to 18. So let me introduce you to the person stepping into the general manager role: Tess Ostheimer!

Tess is training now, and I’m so excited for you to get to know her. She’s an Edison graduate, a wonderful mother, and someone I trust deeply. Two generations of her family have worked with mine. She’s straightforward, honorable, mechanically educated, and the kind of person who rolls up her sleeves and figures things out.

She’s working with Shelby Clark, our head of kitchen, on exciting new things for you to try, along with the quality and consistency that makes Freight House the place you’ll want to visit again and again.

I’m still very much here, even when you catch me covered in orchard dust and frosting instead of at the restaurant. ❤️

Picture the sound of bacon sizzling, eggs frying on the griddle, and a warm slice of sourdough with those crisp, golden edges. Then add tender apples and caramel, because we are fully in our fall breakfast era. 🍎🥓

We’re having so much fun with breakfast at Freight House right now! For the next couple of weeks, we’re serving it two new ways in place of our buffet:

🍳 Family-style breakfast: Generous portions brought to the table to share, meant to serve four to six. Pass the bacon, pour another coffee, and settle in.

☕ Endless brunch plate: Keep your favorites coming, one fresh plate at a time. We thought especially about our solo diners and tables of two who love the buffet, but anyone can order it!

Help us welcome Connor Seargant to the Freight House kitchen! 👨‍🍳

Connor brings years of experience, a whole lot of talent, and the kind of work ethic we love having on our team. He’s already working on a few specials that he cannot wait for you to try and after hearing his ideas, neither can we.

Outside the kitchen, Connor is a proud dad to a son he adores, with a wonderful community cheering him on. We’re excited to be part of that community now, too.

One of the hardest lessons of owning Freight House has been learning that I don’t have to understand why people do what they do.

For example: sometime in the last 48 hours, someone marked us permanently closed on Apple Maps. Why would anyone take the time to do that? I truly don’t know. 🙃

So, for anyone who saw it: WE ARE OPEN. SEVEN DAYS A WEEK. And we would love to feed you.

We’re serving food made with ingredients from local farms whenever we can, plus Monday wrap deals ($10 combo), wing deals Tuesday and Thursday ($12 combo), Wednesday smashburger deals ($10!) , Philly Fridays ($13), and plenty more throughout the week.

It’s an honor to have you at our tables. Whatever Apple Maps says right now, the lights are on, the kitchen is cooking, and we’ll see you at Freight House until 8PM. ❤️

I know we already said this, but now the day is actually here, and we can’t believe it. Today is Kristen’s last day at Freight House. If you want to see her behind the bar one more time, you have until 4 p.m. today. ❤️

There are so many great things happening at Freight House, but it still sucks to say goodbye to a great employee. Kristen is an excellent manager, server, and bartender, somehow great at everything she does. We’re going to miss her so much.

Her babies, Noah, Kade, and fiancé Nick, are beyond blessed to have her in their lives. And if you know Kristen, you know her heart is made of gold. We can’t think of anyone better to guide kids who need someone like her.

We’re so proud of what she’s going on to do, even if we’re really sad to see her go. Come show Kristen some love today. ❤️

For some people, Thursday is all about Wing Night: hot wings, your favorite sauce, and an incredible price. 🍗

$12 for 8 wings with hand cut fries and a soft drink!

For others, it’s medium-rare prime rib with mashed potatoes and Burnham Orchards apple c***r gravy. Or a grilled chicken salad when that’s exactly what sounds good.

Me? I’m here for the chicken quesadilla. The peppers, the chicken, the melted cheese and especially that golden, crispy edge where the tortilla hits the grill. Add a side of hot, perfectly done fries, and that’s my Thursday order. 🤤
