It's the first day of fall, time to settle into a new book 🥰 what are we reading? Anna recommends The Home Place, by Drew Lanham.

"The book meditates on the author's interactions with nature throughout their youth. I found it beautifully moving and interpretative with a focus on how being a person of color has challenges working in naturalistic fields - but ultimately passion for the environment wins over in Lanham’s story. Lanham intertw**es family, history, race, and the awe inspiring power of nature into a great book.
It’s a quick and lovely read! Highly recommend.

What are we reading? Kara just finished Sunward by William Alexander and said it's a perfect cozy sci-fi read after reading a longer heavy series.

"After finishing a heavy epic series that was 6 books long, I was looking for something quick and easy to read. I can't say I typically love cozy books, I like having a bit of suspense or mystery, but this was the perfect blend of those. Sunward is a story, set in space, about chosen family and following your own heart even when society tells you otherwise. It may be short but it's definitely a story worth exploring if you're looking for something new."
