Colin Cureton was a friend and dear member of the Eat for Equity community, and he passed away last month. Colin showed up and gave in so many ways. He was an early supporter of Eat for Equity - volunteer dj, cook, host, and board member. If you went to an Eat for Equity in the early days, you knew Colin. He was behind a turn table, setting the vibe for a feast to become a party!

He would share whatever resources he had with the cause - whether cooking chickens in his home oven and running them over to the event, or hosting Eat for Equity’s in most of the epic houses he lived in.

Warm, creative, intelligent, thoughtful and fun, Colin was a good friend. We were lucky to know him. A celebration of his life is next Friday, July 17, at Lebanon Hills, and we'll be making pies. You can find more information at https://colinturntales.com/

It’s an all-Salad menu, perfect for those summer nights when you don’t want to turn on a thing. What is a “salad,” really? Here’s our criteria:

* There must be something green in a Salad
* Salad is something that is all mixed together - at some point, all the parts come together into one delicious bite!
* Salad is nutrient-dense [though not necessarily “healthy”]
* Salad has a dressing

We are a country of immigrants, and grateful to be. We’re able to experience the food of the world because immigrants brought it here.

And so we celebrate America, with gratitude for the many immigrants from around the world who packed their suitcase with spices they might not be able to find in a new place, who brought seeds so they could grow their own herbs and ingredients, who folded their family recipes into a national fabric.
