Meet Your Maker✨
Hi I’m Cassie, your neighborhood baker.
In 2014, I graduated from Le Cordon Bleu with a degree in Patisserie and Baking. In 2015, life threw us a curveball, and we welcomed twin baby boys into this world. I became a stay-at-home mom but continued baking from home for extra income.
In 2018, we welcomed our third son into the world, and shortly after I was diagnosed with Celiac disease, a severe gluten allergy. I was devastated, overwhelmed, and scared about what the future held. I had built an entire career around baking, and now I was allergic to flour and would have to risk my health to pursue my dreams.
I stopped baking for two years. We moved to Nevada, and I became a preschool teacher, then a special education paraprofessional. During that time, I became more familiar with my diagnosis, cross-contamination, and how to safely manage Celiac disease.
I slowly started baking again and rekindled my passion for the kitchen. I obtained my cottage food license in Nevada and began taking orders on the side while continuing to work in education. I slowly learned the art of gluten free baking and began to recognize the need within our community.
I had always dreamed of having a farm stand bakery, and one day I had an awakening to just go for it.
Fast forward to you standing here reading this today.
At Awaken Bakery, we believe everyone deserves to indulge in a little treat, and dietary restrictions should not prevent that.
