I think every photographer expects the hero shot—the perfectly plated entrée, the handcrafted cocktail, the dining room full of laughter. Plenty of those were captured…but sometimes…the most meaningful photo is the one no one planned.

No food. No patrons. Just a quiet corner of our restaurant. Shelves that have stood with us since the beginning. Bottles chosen with intention. Glassware waiting for its next toast. Candlelight dancing across brick, illuminating a display that, to us, has always been more than décor.

It’s a reminder that Black Sheep isn’t just built on what comes out of the kitchen. It’s built on atmosphere. On details. On history. On the feeling you get the moment you walk through the door—long before your first bite or sip.

Sometimes, the most beautiful part of a story is found in the places between the moments. And we’re grateful Photography by Deanna Michele captured one of ours 🖤

𝘽𝘼𝙍𝙏𝙀𝙉𝘿𝙀𝙍 𝘿𝙀𝙏𝙎: position is for two evenings per week—a Wednesday OR Thursday and a Friday OR Saturday, schedule rotates. Each service staff is due in at 4p, doors open at 5p. Weekdays we close at 9p, typically leave around 10-10:30p. Weekends we close at 11p, typically leave around 12:30p. Additional shifts available from time to time. Plus, we do private dinners, sip and paints, wine dinners etc which require bartending services.
Paid week training. 14 day preliminary period. Our bartenders work solo. Walk with your tips in cash, tipped out from servers too. Competitive hourly rate + raises. Paid weekly.
Must be 21+. Must have or obtain ABC certification + ServSafe food handler certification. Must have reliable transportation. Must be willing to WORK. Must handle a FAST PACED environment. Must be detailed oriented. Must be a TEAM PLAYER!

Honestly…I just can’t…my dang on heart…

Tonight y’all packed this restaurant like it was the last place on Earth. On a Thursday, in downtown Milford.
I just can’t find the words to express our gratitude for each and every one of you. It’s beyond humbling, truly.

And, we just got word we made it into the TOP 15 for the FAVORITE CHEF! Like, someone pinch me!!! Went from just a number, to TOP 20, now TOP 15 and making headway in TOP 10 🙌🏼

I…I’m lost for words, for once (😂)
You ALL are the most amazing, beautiful, kind, supportive, opinionated and crazy bunch of people I’ve ever meant, and I wouldn’t change a single second of it!

Together…we’ll set the bar, raise it, shatter it and turn this industry into something one has ever seen. Goals folks, goals 🖤

Simple enough. Definitely interesting. Beyond delicious.
