We are always happy to have the Northwood University Football Team stop in. They have always been kind and they sure love ice cream!!!

What started as a quick trip for ice cream turned into a moment our Northwood students won’t forget! 🍦💙

A group of Northwood student-athletes stopped by Cottage Creamery on a sunny afternoon. When two elderly women walked in behind them, our football players immediately stepped aside and insisted they take their place in line.

That small act of kindness sparked an unforgettable conversation.

Meet Ede Welt, 98, and her daughter Jackie Gilliam — two remarkable athletes from Gladwin who have both competed and medaled in the Senior National Olympics. From gold medals to lifelong determination, they shared stories that left our Timberwolves inspired.

Their advice to our student-athletes? Keep your feet moving your whole life.

A simple gesture became a powerful reminder that leadership, respect, and perseverance can connect generations in the most unexpected ways.

We hope to welcome Ede and Jackie to campus this fall for a Northwood football game! 🐺
