Introducing our Operations Manager ⭐️

Shawna officially joined the Peerless Mill Inn & Brewery team in August, but she’s been part of the story since day one—October 31, 2025—when her Dad, owner Chris Small, bought the building. She’s poured countless hours of sweat equity into the property and brings a genuine passion for restoring this historic spot as a restaurant while keeping the brewery thriving.

Shawna was raised in Germantown and moved back three years ago. She is married to Barry and is mom to three sons—Kaleb (and his wife Carolyn), Tyler, and Lucas—and grandma to little Barry.

Fun fact: Shawna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who left her full-time career in the field to help turn her Dad’s dream into reality.

These days you’ll find her handling a bit of everything—design, social media, the website, events, planning, merchandise, hosting the rental suites on the second floor of the brewery, and even cooking in the food trailer! If something needs doing around here, there’s a good chance Shawna’s already on it.

🍺 Big progress alert from the kitchen! 🍺

For the past two days our contractors have been hard at work building a brand-new keg cooler right on site… while the kitchen is completely torn apart for renovation.

This was a critical step — the cooler had to go in before we can redo the entire kitchen floors. Once those floors are done, the rest of the kitchen renovation is going to fly, and we’ll be one huge step closer to opening the restaurant!

In the meantime, don’t miss out on amazing food from our food trailer, The Peerless Pantry. Come grab a bite, raise a glass, and watch the transformation continue.
