Happy Monday! It feels good to be back to a normal schedule. Thank you all for your understanding in regards to closing early on Saturday due to a funeral.

Sometimes it’s difficult to keep in mind that behind the restaurant scene, we are all families, parents, brothers, sisters, daughters, sons, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. We are a small, close knit, establishment and when one is hurting, we are all hurting. It’s so very important for us to walk closely with one another and be there in times of need.

Tuesday, September 29th is the traditional Goose Day in Mifflin County. If you don’t know about it, I encourage you to look it up and research it! It is fascinating and such a HUGEEEEE staple in our community! We are THANKFUL to be a part of it!

That being said…. We WILL BE serving goose on the 29th. Our goose meals will be TAKE OUT ONLY.

We will be serving breakfast until 11am on September 29th for dine in. We will CLOSE at 11am.

We will start TAKE OUT times at 12 noon and offer take out until 6pm. (Or until we run out)

We will be offering Roast Goose OR Baked Ham meals ONLY. We won’t be serving anything else from the regular menu in order to fill all the goose meals in a timely and efficient manner.
While this may seem inconvenient to some, it has worked in prior years and has eased the chaos of the day for our employees and customers who often had to wait in line, try to make reservations, or couldn’t get through on the phone or find a parking space.

Essentially, this allows us the opportunity to serve you better and fill as many goose orders as we can in a much more timely and efficient manner.

All that being said…….
CALL TODAY to RESERVE your goose AND your TME SLOT. We will have the ability to fill so many orders every 30 minutes, once those slots are full, we will have to move on to a different time slot!
Orders are limited so be certain to call 717-899-6771 to RESERVE TODAY!

Back in 1964, the Yakamook family got a new Oliver tractor. 🚜 It was a beaut and the kids would all fight over the steering wheel. 🛞 Pappy sold the tractor in 1972.

Over the years, the tractor has been talked about, reminisced over, and missed.

Fast forward to 2026, when Steves grandson, Aiden, just so happened to come across an old Oliver for sale. The Oliver’s new home had been south Jersey and after years of no use, didn’t really run. It was run down and left go. Steve knew that it was the original, so he bought it. Aiden, his grandson, has a very precise eye for detail. He spent a lot of time giving this ole’ piece a makeover.

Rebuilt. Repainted. Redone. 🙌🏻
It looks amazing!!!!

Sunday we gathered at the farm to recreate the original photo from years ago… the one where 4 siblings were perched, proud as peacocks, on this fancy Oliver, back in the 60s. Yesterday, those 4 siblings, took their positions, proud as peacocks, on this “new” to them, ole’ antique tractor that belonged to their farm so long ago!

It was beautiful! And it’s a story worth sharing!

I hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed being there to be a part of this special time.
The stories being told and the memories being shared were some that I will forever cherish!
