Happy Friday once again friends, it’s our favorite day of the week, the day the weekend begins! As is our custom we got live music happening this evening… the always entertaining, eminently talented and sometimes southern soul food fried 😆 creekbeddrifters will take our stage tonight; so come on in, grab a table and don’t be late, the first set starts at 8:00… 🤠

A cloudy start to our Friday today but that ain’t gonna last too long, nope. That sun should be out soon enough and drive our temps up to round about 95 degrees, and this pattern’s gonna be with us a while too. By Monday we may even see triple digits… 🥵 Thank God for air conditioning! And ice cream, can’t forget the ice cream… 😉

When it’s hot outside the Barlor is the place to be, doncha know? We got everything you need to help cool ya off, ice cold crafty cocktails, boozy ice cream and that amazing stuff that warms the soul… live music! We got it all tonight and the only thing that’s missin’ is YOU! It’s a fine lookin’ Wednesday out there today, yes it is, a good day for Kocktails and Karaoke at the Barlor tonight! It’s officially Summer so it follows that we should have a Summer cocktail menu and with zero further delay, here it is! Filled with lighter more refreshing fare are a bunch of tasty tipples that’s as sure to satisfy your taste buds as cool ya down some at the same time! Zoom on in there and see what we got for ya and if by chance ya don’t see anything you like, have no fear, we can still make just about anything you can possibly imagine, just like that… 😁

We had some rain very early this morning but it looks like that big mess has moved way off to our east by now and come lunchtime that sun oughta be shinin’ bright! High temps up at 93 before coolin’ off to 79 overnight tonight. More of the same tomorrow and by Thursday this pattern will be a lock for at least a week to come. Live Music Friday’s gonna be a beauty when the creekbeddrifters are in town to play… 🤠

What are y’all doin’ on this here Tuesday? It’s a day of the week that doesn’t get much attention now that I think of it… except for tacos and who doesn’t love tacos… 😆 Go on and getchoo a couple tacos and when yer done head on over to the Barlor for some sweet boozy treats for dessert and a refreshing crafty cocktail or two too… and just like that your Tuesday got somewhat special… 😊

Downtown McKinney has another fun event going on for all you World Cup Soccer fans out there, it’s called “The Summer of Soccer” and everyone can play. We got one more day to see some scattered thundershowers before things really start to dry out and Summer sets in for sure. Partly cloudy and hot out there with temps up at 94 degrees and overnight lows in the upper 70’s. More of the same with that chance of rain at 40% tomorrow but after that it’s Summer full speed ahead and we’ll see highs near 100 degrees for Live Music Friday with the creekbeddrifters!

There’s a few extra good reasons to visit all of us here in downtown McKinney, as if you needed any more than boozy ice cream… 😆 But the more the merrier I always say and trackin’ those passport stickers down is fun for the whole family well into July! A bright and cheery Sunday sundae for a fine lookin’ Father’s Day features the flavors of peach and vanilla! A big scoop of peach brandy infused “Eat A Peach” together with another of peach whiskey infused “Peaches, Cream and Crumbole’” topped with extra peach arabeschi, a little hot caramel fudge, bourbon vanilla whipped cream and a cherry as always for good luck… 🍒

Sunday scripture: Acts 11:27 KJB… “And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.”

This seemingly innocuous verse portends trouble. Let’s remember what is meant by the words “these days” as defined by Peter not long ago.

Acts 2:16 KJB… “But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;”

Who goes on to describe the “last days” conditions the world will find itself in: prophets prophesying, signs and wonders, fire and smoke, sun goes dark, moon turns to blood, etc (Joel 1-3). Bad times indeed. What news do the Jerusalem prophets bring to Antioch?

Acts 11:28 KJB… “And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.”

Holy Spirit filled Agabus brings news of great dearth throughout all the world; dearth is famine, extreme poverty. The Jerusalem saints are in need… but why? Did not Christ promise that the Father would fulfill all their needs (Mat 6:25-26)? He did; contingent upon national Israel recognizing their Messiah, which they didn’t. Remember as well they sold all their possessions (Mat 19:27); it is no wonder they are now in trouble, as Peter will soon write.

1 Peter 4:17 KJB… “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?”

Excellent question Peter! The Jerusalem saints need help and those at Antioch are in position to deliver by the hands of two who did not follow Christ by selling all they owned.

Acts 11:29-30 KJB… “Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea: Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.“

Never know just quite what you’re gonna get when ya follow us and today I got a palindrome for ya. Y’all know what a palindrome is? It’s a word that is spelled the same forward as backwards like “RACECAR” but this one is numeric. As we write dates here in America the next 10 days in a row are palindromes and I thought that was interesting enough to share. More interesting it seems than even boozy ice cream or crafty cocktails; must be the dad in me… 😆

Happy Fathers Day weekend to all you dads out there, we hope this weekend is a great one for ya even if it’s a cloudy start to our Saturday today. There’s a 20% of showers but all that rain we had yesterday has moved way off to our southeast and ain’t gonna bother us none. We might even see some peeks of sun before our day is done. Father’s Day Sunday looks to be the nicest day of the weekend, fitting I’d say, with lots of sun and real warm temperatures! The rain is back yet again on Monday.

Enjoy the Fathers Day beer walk in downtown McKinney today, that should be all kinds of fun and families, if you wanna get good old dad somethin’ he’ll enjoy, some boozy ice cream for dessert after a nice meal would certainly do the trick! That would make quite the day for dads… beer, his favorite food, spiked ice cream and the appreciation of his family… 😊 Here’s to us, dads!

Happy Friday friends, the weekend arrives today! It arrived ridin’ a wet front but it’s here nonetheless and that’s always a good thing… 😉 As is our thing here at the Barlor on Fridays it’s Live Music Friday and tonight we feature the Irish themed sounds of the Lonestar Paddy's… ☘️ A special thanks to both of the boys as it seems I had them on my calendar by mistake, and they are comin’ to play for us anyway… 😁 What a good pair of dudes!

The weather radar sure is a mess this morning, a big green blob hovering over the northern parts of DFW and it’s moving very slowly too… 🫤 Does it move fast enough to be out of our way tonight? We shall see what effect them no-rain vibes will have… 🤞 Mostly cloudy tomorrow with a 50% chance of rain showers that ought to end by early afternoon. We will see the sun again on Sunday thank goodness!

Raincoats and umbrellas are the order of the day so far today, let’s hope we don’t need ‘em later on as our Friday night approaches. It’ll be a goodun for sure if we can leave the foul weather gear at home! Made up a batch of PupperNutter last night and in case you didn’t know what that good stuff is, Fido’s here to tell ya. It’s a frozen treat we make special out of peanut butter and banana for the doggos in our lives and we’ve yet to see a pup turn a nose up at a cup! They love the stuff and each pre-packed cup comes garnished with a mini-milk-bone dog biscuit… 🐶 We even got to give ranger_the_barhorse a cup the last time he came to visit… 😆 The next time you come by to treat your taste buds to some sweet boozy treats, don’t forget to pick up a PupperNutter for your best buddy and treat his taste buds to sweet treats too… 😊

It’s a good day for ice cold treats, that’s for sure with temps rising upwards of 95 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Overnight lows down around the mid to upper 70’s. There’s now a 60% chance of showers for Live Music Friday so keep the no-rain vibes a -flowin’ cause we want it high and dry when the Lonestar Paddy's come to play… ☘️ If we do get any rain it just might end before the band arrives… 🤞 June sure tends to be a soggy month here in DFW.

Some days come by and ya just don’t feel much like goin’ out. Of course today is not one of those days but they do happen from time to time, that’s why we put our ice cream in pint sized containers! Take a pint or two of the boozy goodness home with ya and start stocking up that old ice box. Next time you don’t feel like goin’ out, the boozy goodness will be right there ready and waitin’ for ya… 😉

It’s a cloudy start to the day today but that sun should start peeking through soon enough. We’ll have a high of 88 once it starts to shine and lows overnight down around the mid 70’s. A bit warmer for karaoke Wednesday and a 50% chance of showers Friday so get them no-rain vibes flowin’ once again cause we got the Lonestar Paddy's comin’ to play!

Since today is not one of those days ya don’t feel like goin’ out, get out there and have you some fun!
