I am beyond proud of my brother, Gaylon Caldwell, for earning his Master of Public Administration from Texas Southern University today! 🎓

Watching someone you love stay committed to education, leadership, and service is inspiring. From earning his Bachelor’s in Emergency Management to running as a mayoral candidate for the City of Houston, he continues to show what determination and perseverance look like.

I’m honestly at a loss right now… my outdoor chairs and tables have been stolen.

If anyone has seen anything or has any information at all, please reach out to me. I would truly appreciate it. As if things haven’t already been challenging enough, this is just adding more on top. But I’m staying strong and pushing through regardless. Please share this post and help me get the word out. Thank you to everyone who continues to support me.

I know I’ve been quiet, but please know I haven’t been idle.

Behind the scenes, I’ve been working nonstop to get Green Fork Kitchen up and running. Paperwork, plans, revisions, meetings every step possible to open our doors. And yet, no matter what I do, it feels like I’m being met with resistance and pushed back at every turn.

It’s hard watching restaurants all around us open while we’re still sitting here, waiting. I won’t lie it’s discouraging. Some days it truly feels like Green Fork Kitchen doesn’t “fit” for the people who decide whether we move forward or not.

I won’t say I regret choosing my hometown of Live Oak, FL, because I love this place and the people in it. But this has been a lot for one person to carry. Mentally, emotionally, financially it’s heavy.

I’m still here. I’m still trying. I’m still believing.
And I appreciate everyone who has checked on me, supported me, and reminded me why I started this in the first place.

Inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s words and legacy, our float represents community, unity, perseverance, and breaking barriers in a peaceful way. The empty table wasn’t missing people it was prepared for everyone. Because inclusion means making space, even when the seat hasn’t been filled yet.

“If you can’t fly, then run.
If you can’t run, then walk.
If you can’t walk, then crawl.
But whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.”

Because he had a dream, so did I and that dream looks like access, opportunity, and a place where everyone is welcome.

Through it all, we are leaning on our faith, trusting God’s timing, and standing on the promise that what He starts, He is faithful to finish. We’re still holding on with hope, praying, pushing forward, and believing that soon we’ll be able to share the moment we’ve all been waiting for the day we officially open our doors to you.

Until then, thank you for your prayers, your patience, and your continued support. 💚🥗🧡
