We are so excited and honored to be featured in Food & Wine magazine!

And I just want to take the moment to mention my incredible staff who show up, work hard and have taken on my passion for Alaska shellfish - I couldn’t do it without them!

Also to the farms that harvest the oysters we sell at the shack, thank you for all that you do in providing an incredible product that the world truly deserves to know. We hear every day that our oysters are the best a customer has ever had and we hope to continue to share them with visitors and locals alike for years to come!

Food & Wine editors ate more than 100 dishes in the month of July, trying new restaurants and frequenting old standbys. From campfire beans to corn ice cream, these 16 dishes stood out among the rest.

Meet the farmer on the fourth! Come by the Alaskan Oyster Shack at the Newtown Wharf on Saturday July 4th for live shucking by Jimmy, oyster farmer from Tommaso Shellfish over on PoW! We’re also bring back (by popular demand!) our blueberry basil mignonette sauce for a little red white and blueberry! Don’t miss out - we’ll be open late!

Party at the Newtown Wharf celebrating the R2AK teams! Friday, June 26th from 7-10pm come on down to have your favorite Wharf dishes and desserts, listen to live music by Joel Forlines, have a few drinks from Alaska Legends and get the chance to mingle with some of the Race to Alaska teams!
