Charlie Thomas was a legend in Kent. Stewarding Ray’s Place for 48 years is his legacy, yet there is so much more to the story. Charlie was a loving husband, father & friend to many. When we purchased The Riverside in 2018 and began building The River Merchant, Charlie was there every step of the way. As the restaurant developed Charlie was there to mentor and answer questions, always willing to pick up the phone and share opinions. We will miss Charlie stopping in for a Bloody Merchant and chatting with our staff. Please visit the American Legion today (Sunday 10/11) between 2-6pm to reminisce and cheers a beverage to Charlie Thomas. Go Crazy!
