Happy 3rd Birthday, Jaydeon!
All artwork on this cake was handmade, and almost all of it could be eaten! Only the blue backdrop with the stars on it wasn't edible; the blue part was cardboard, and then it was decorated with fondant. Anyway, I was given an AI picture as inspiration for this design, and I tried my best to give the AI a run for its money. I must say, I still like "its" picture better, but my cake tasted better, for sure! haha!

Groom's cake!
All artwork was handmade. The Vikings "decal" on the bottom tier, and the football helmet topper were made using a process of cutting different colors of fondant and layering them up. It adds a lot of depth and interest rather than having just a flat edible image or even a hand-painted flat image. The process is a huge pain in the butt... but the results are worth the work.

Pretty little birthday cake for a 17th birthday celebration! No plastic balls here... those balls were Rice Krispies Treats inside. The topper, of course, was a keepsake. The leopard spots were hand-painted using food coloring. And each of those sprinkles had to be put on with tweezers! Such a pain... but it's the only way to get them exactly where I want them! haha! (there was a line of sprinkles going down the backside also... ugh! That's a lot of tweezing... haha!)
The background of this picture was added courtesy of my husband's business partner: good ol' AI! Nevertheless, the cake is as it was, with no AI-enhancements. I do not ever want to present my cakes as better than they were. No false expectations here ;-)

Vintage cakes are coming back with a vengeance... and I couldn't be happier about it!
Usually, I make these designs using buttercream frosting only, but this cake was frosted, and then covered with fondant and piped with royal icing. It was for an outdoor reception on Sept 19, which was forecasted to be high of 98 degrees! And the bride wanted to ensure that nothing went awry with the look of the cake. I'm sure this one held up for all the pictures! Nevertheless, with my homemade marshmallow fondant, and homemade royal icing, I'm sure it tasted as good as it looked!

Congratulations, Richard & Alexis! Thank you both so much for choosing Fancy That Cake to make your wedding cake.
This cake features some textured buttercream tiers with some hand-painted artwork. Alexis wanted to incorporate some deer (and specifically whitetail deer) without making it a "hunting" wedding cake... she wanted more the paintings to have the look of those pretty blue and white antique dishes, all navy and muted blues. And so I thought that this particular icing texture and some pearls added to the overall "vintage" look of the cake rather nicely.
