Cavatore Italian Restaurant When we came to this wonderful country, we were received with open arms – and we’re happy here. Our emblem is a blend of Texas, American, and Italian flags.

The name Cavatore and it's coat of arms is over 800 years old and comes from a small medieval village in Northern Italy, near Acqui, in Piedmonte: land of the famous Barolo, Barbera and Dolcetto d'Alba wines; truffles and of course fantastic food! We wanted to put something in our restaurant that would symbolize Texas and the United States, and found this hundred year old barn in Bastrop. We caref

ully collected memorabilia from all over Italy that would depict the last hundred years of our country. Many of these items have something to do with the United States – recollecting good times past and even sometimes those that weren’t so good!! In recognition of Father’s Day, and with Cavatore closed for the holiday, I wanted to take a moment to honor all fathers—past, present, and future—who have shaped our lives through their love, sacrifice, and guidance.

As fathers, partners, providers, and protectors, much of what we do is done out of love, asking for little in return beyond the happiness of those we cherish.

If your father is still with you, take a moment to tell him you love him. If he’s no longer here, honor his memory by living with the values he taught and by being the example for the next generation.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures. Your impact is greater than you know.

Our famous Osso Buco is making us hungry just looking at it! Slow-braised to perfection and served over our creamy prosciutto-infused mashed potatoes, finished with a rich, savory demi-glace and fresh asparagus.
