If you’ve never tried a gordita, you are seriously missing out. 😍

That thick, handmade masa is soft, a little chewy, and so good on its own.

This one is topped with melty cheese and birria, then finished with cilantro and red onion. So simple, so good.

Who else is on team gordita? 🌮

FAQ: Why do we grill over mesquite? 🔥

Because mesquite gives our meats that smoky, slightly charred flavor you just can’t fake.

It’s a big part of what makes Tacos al Carbon taste like Tacos al Carbon, and it’s been part of the Backyard Taco flavor from the beginning.

Fresh ingredients + mesquite fire = Mexcellence.

Edwin shows us why Backyard Taco has some of the best tacos in Arizona. 🌮🔥

Fresh ingredients, made to order, and that mesquite-grilled flavor that makes all the difference.

Now with 7 locations across the Valley, there are even more ways to get your Mexcellence fix. 😎

Practice ran late? Game night? Band competition? 🏈📣🥁

Skip the cooking. We’ll handle dinner. 🌮

Order ahead, swing through the drive-thru, and get the familia fed without adding one more thing to your Friday-night schedule.

Because after a long week, dinner should be the easy part. 😎

FAQ: Why is our original University location the only Backyard Taco without a drive-thru?

Simple answer: there just isn’t enough room for one at that location.

University is where Backyard Taco started, and the site wasn’t built with drive-thru space in mind. As we opened newer locations, drive-thru convenience became part of the plan.

So while University may be the OG without a drive-thru, you can still order ahead for pickup and get the same fresh, mesquite-grilled Mexcellence. 🌮🔥

Forget the flowers. Buy her tacos. 🌮🌸

Honestly, romance looks a lot like mesquite-grilled tacos, fresh toppings, and not having to figure out what’s for dinner. 😎

Edwin takes us behind the scenes to show how we make our guacamole fresh every single day. 🥑🔥

Mild, creamy, and made for piling onto tacos, burritos, bowls, or whatever you’re craving.

And if you like a little more heat, layer it up with one of the spicy salsas from our salsa bar. All of our salsas are free, so mix, match, and make it your way. 🌶️🌮

FAQ: What the heck is a Papa Loca? 🥔🤪

“Papa Loca” literally means crazy potato, and ours definitely lives up to the name.

It starts with a baked potato, then we load it up Backyard Taco style with your choice of meat and all the good stuff. Basically, it’s a potato that decided being a side dish wasn’t enough. 😎

Have you tried one yet?

¡Viva México! 🌮

Today we celebrate Mexican Independence Day, commemorating the call for independence known as El Grito de Dolores and the beginning of Mexico’s fight for freedom.

And because September 16 also happens to be National Guacamole Day... well, that feels like a pretty Mexcellent combination to us. 🥑😎

Celebrate with tacos, guac, salsa, and plenty of Mexican flavor. ❤️🤍💚

In 2005, Ruben and Marisela began sharing their love of authentic Mexican food with family and friends. Word quickly spread, and soon people were following them to backyards across the Valley for a taste of their mesquite-grilled Tacos al Carbon.

Eventually, one backyard simply wasn’t big enough.

That love of familia, Mexican food, tradition, and flavor became the foundation of Backyard Taco and the beginning of what would become .

Over the next month, we’ll be celebrating the food, flavors, traditions, and people that inspire what we do every day. 🇲🇽❤️

¡Vamos a celebrar!

Weekend with the familia? 🌮🎨🎬

Pick something fun around town, then make Backyard Taco part of the adventure.

Movie night? Grab tacos before the show.
Feeling creative? Hit As You Wish, then stop by for dinner.
Library run? Reward everyone with a shake or ice cream cone after.
Park day, errands, sports, whatever the familia has going on, tacos make it better.

And for the little ones, we’ve got kids meals with options like mini cheese quesadillas, tacos, or a bean & cheese burrito, plus rice or beans and a drink.

Sometimes the best weekends are the simple ones.

What’s your favorite family outing to pair with Backyard Taco?
