Some call us the local “Cheers.” To some, it’s “Tokyo.” For a number of the locals, it’s simply “Sushi” (no other explanation needed, Tokyo Cafe is understood). Regardless of what you call us, it’s a place you can count on for Japanese comfort food. Since opening at the end of 1997, Tokyo Cafe has been a staple to the surrounding neighborhoods and families in the Fort Worth area. There's something

on the menu for everyone so come join us for lunch or dinner and see who you might run in to. Tokyo Cafe was selected by the readers of Fort Worth, Texas Magazine as the 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 'Best Japanese restaurant.'

Tokyo Cafe is family-owned and operated.

We are thrilled to introduce our new Omakase experience—a seamless fusion of hanshik (traditional Korean cuisine) and kappo (traditional Japanese multi-course dining).

This exclusive menu bridges the rich, comforting flavors of the Joseon era with the refined techniques of Edo-period culinary mastery.

Here is the complete journey awaiting your palate:

Scallion Pancake/Pajeon – A crispy Korean staple reimagined with a style similar to Japanese okonomiyaki, made with spring onion, shrimp, teriyaki, kewpie, and bonito.

Galbi Karaage – Japanese fried chicken tossed in a sweet galbi sauce, served with kewpie and a lemon wedge. The glaze features the iconic, savory-sweet profile of a traditional Korean marinade made from soy sauce, garlic, and sweet pear juice.

Teriyaki Gimbap – Chicken, yamagobo, takuan, fried shallots, and sesame seeds. Unlike Japanese maki, which focuses on raw fish and vinegared rice, Korean gimbap features savory cooked fillings and rice seasoned beautifully with sesame oil.

Chojang Salmon Crudo – Yamitsuki cabbage, salmon, perilla leaf, and sesame seeds. It's brought to life with chojang, a classic sweet, tangy, and spicy Korean condiment made from gochujang (chili paste) and vinegar.

Octopus & Shish*to Kushiyaki – Octopus and shish*to peppers glazed with a rich ssamjang tare. Ssamjang is a thick, ultra-savory Korean paste made from fermented soybeans (doenjang), chili paste (gochujang), garlic, and sesame oil, bringing a deep umami flavor to the grill.

Dongchimi Zaru Soba – Soba, soy egg, beef, and pear & radish kimchi, served with a chilled beef broth tsuyu.

Dumpling Soup/Mandu Guk – Savory beef stock with kimchi gyoza and chewy rice cakes.

Sikhye – A beautifully sweet rice barley punch to perfectly round out your evening.

Our menu is subject to change if additional culinary inspiration strikes!

Something Special is Simmering...
We’ve been a little quiet lately, and we want to start by saying thank you for your patience. We took a short break to rest, reset, and find fresh inspiration—but we’ve missed serving you more than words can say!

Now for the good news: We are officially back to the planning stages for our next omakase night!

Omakase means "I'll leave it up to you," and we promise to make this next experience well worth the wait.

We are finalizing the dates and menu details as we speak. Keep your notifications turned on, because you'll be the first to know when reservations drop.
