I asked Minnesota to nominate a school where we could bring a little HOPE this Halloween.

52 SCHOOLS HAVE ALREADY BEEN NOMINATED.

And I LOVE reading WHY.

Amazing teachers. Incredible kids. Schools taking care of families. Communities that have been through a lot.

And sometimes the reason is simplyā€¦

These kids deserve to have some fun. šŸ§”

We couldnā€™t agree more.

So weā€™re giving the schools we choose 50 complete SCARY GOOD Pancake Kits to use however they want.

Fundraiser. Student prizes. Teacher surprises. Or send them home with families who could use a little extra fun this Halloween.

Hopeā€™s very own Melina Solo-Cruz WON the Minnesota State Fair Amateur Talent Contest - singing No Good Deed - and took home $10,000!

But the best part? She dared to dream.

She put herself out there, stepped onto that stage, risked hearing ā€œnoā€ and chased something that mattered to her.

And thenā€¦ SHE WON. šŸ™ŒšŸ½

Melina, we are SO proud of you - for the win, but even more for having the courage to try.

And if youā€™re at Hope Breakfast Bar North Loop, make sure you say hi and tell her congratulations! apparently weā€™ve had a State Fair Champion working among us this whole time!

School is backā€¦and itā€™s time to support our kids & teachersā€¦

Weā€™re getting ready to launch something pretty ridiculous at Hope for this Halloween seasonā€¦

BLACK CAT COCOA PANCAKES. šŸŽƒšŸ„ž
Orange cream cheese syrup.
Candy eyes and all kinds of stuff for kids to make Catsā€¦ pumpkins, monsters, scary facesā€¦or whatever weird thing they can dream up.

Weā€™re calling them SCARY GOOD.

But before we sell a single one, I want to give a bunch of them away.

So Minnesotaā€¦I need your help.

NOMINATE A SCHOOL.

Weā€™re going to pick schools and show up with 50 complete Scary Good Pancake Kits. Each kit feeds a family of six.

What the school does with them is completely up to them.

Use them for a fundraiser.

Give them away as student prizes.

Let teachers surprise some kids.

Or maybe there are families at that school where spending money on something silly and fun for Halloween just isnā€™t possible this year.

If thatā€™s the reason, tell us.

Because if there are 73 families who need one, we arenā€™t showing up with 50.

Weā€™ll show up with 73.

Breaking News !!!!! letā€™s go!!!!!

Singing No Good Deedā€¦

Hopes very own Melina Solo-Cruz won the Minnesota State Fair Amateur Talent Contest.
The whole thing. ā¤ļøšŸ†
And yesā€¦ she won $10,000.

But thatā€™s not even the best part !!!

She dared to dream.

She believed enough in something inside of her to put herself out thereā€¦ to get on that stageā€¦ to risk failingā€¦ to risk hearing noā€¦ and to chase it anyway.

Melina got on the stage and chased a dream ! I freaking love that !!!

And then she WON.

Weā€™re so incredibly proud of her for the big winā€¦. but I think Iā€™m even more proud of her for trying.

For believing.

For having the courage to chase something that mattered to her.

Melinaā€¦ we are SO freaking proud of you. ā¤ļø

Soul & Flour isnā€™t trying to decide if itā€™s Italian or Southern. Chef Gary is bringing his life experience and putting it on the plate ā€¦

Blending both.

Mac & cheese buried in sauce.
Crab cakes.
Fried green tomatoes & burrata.
Catfish Bolognese.
Pork chops.
Short ribs & grits.
Fried chicken & waffles.
Banana pudding cannoli.
Peach cobbler still hot in the cast iron.

This menu makes absolutely no senseā€¦
