Hey Cuzins ❤️
I just put a pot of rice on, and it took me right back to my childhood.
I started thinking about all those times my mama would feed us, make sure everybody had what they needed, and somehow I rarely saw her sit down and eat with us.
And now, as I’m cooking dinner for my own family, I realized something…
I do the same thing.
My mama never sat me down and said, “Make sure you take care of everybody before yourself.” She didn’t have to. It was something I watched her do so naturally that, somewhere along the way, it became a part of me.
And that made me stop and think…
How many things did our mothers teach us without ever saying a word?
The way they loved.
The way they sacrificed.
The way they made a little stretch a long way.
The way they put everybody else first, even when they were tired.
Sometimes we don’t realize the lessons we were given until life puts us in the exact same position.
So if you still have your mama, call her. ❤️ Tell her thank you, not just for the things you remember, but for the things you were too young to understand.
And if you’re a mama yourself, I hope you know this:
Your children are learning from you even when you don’t realize you’re teaching them.
This is my granny’s old pot the kind of pot that held ingredients, cooked meals, and helped feed generations of our family. 🥹❤️
And honestly, I wonder how many stories this pot could tell if it could talk.
What is something your mama or granny did that you didn’t understand as a child, but now that you’re grown, you realize was love? ❤️
