Today, we honor the life and legacy of Reverend Jesse L. Jackson Sr., a towering figure in the fight for justice, equality, and human dignity. From the front lines of the Civil Rights Movement alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to his tireless advocacy through decades of change, Reverend Jackson dedicated his life to ensuring that every voice was heard and every community was seen.

As a South Side institution, Virtue holds a deep reverence for the leaders who paved the way for spaces like ours to exist and thrive. Reverend Jackson’s unwavering commitment to Chicago, to Black communities, and to the ongoing pursuit of justice is woven into the very fabric of this city we call home.

His words, his work, and his spirit will continue to inspire generations to come.

Our hearts and deepest condolences go out to the Jackson family and all who were blessed by his extraordinary life.
