fe in Costa Rica. We are home of the original oatmeal shake! Our recipe is unique to our family and has been passed down through the generations. The most popular item on our menu is Casado, which means “married”. It’s an authentic Costa Rican dish that marries white rice, black beans, sweet plantains, cabbage salad with either thin rib eye steak, chicken breast or tilapia, topped with an over easy egg.

We did it. 🏆🇨🇷

This past Wednesday, Henry accepted the Best Latin Food award at the 2026 Legacy Business Poll, presented by Special Service Area #33 in Wicker Park Bucktown.

Hundreds of community members voted for their favorite neighborhood businesses that have been serving this area for 15 years or more, and you voted for us.

36 years ago, Mom had a dream. Dad helped build it. Henry has carried it forward every single day since 2006. This award belongs to all three of them, and to every one of you who has made Irazú your home away from home.

We are Bucktown. And Bucktown is us. Pura Vida. 🤍
