What a night to come home to.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Grand Reopening of Pizzicata Carefree. Seeing this room full again, with old friends and new faces around our table, meant more than we can say.

This is where our story began. Federico Venturini and Chef Viola Tagliaferri arrived in Arizona from Gualdo Tadino, Umbria, in 2018. Soon after, they met Phil Igneri, born in New York to an Italian family and an Arizonan for nearly 40 years. Together, in 2019, they opened Pizzicata in Carefree, bringing Arizona its first certified Pinseria. What began as a partnership became one family.

Now, with a renewed space in Spanish Village, the same authentic Italian cooking from Chef Viola’s kitchen, and the same warm hospitality, we’re ready for the next chapter. And we’d love for you to be part of it.

In Italy, the season is the law — and the menu obeys.
That’s why the dish your friend raved about might not be there when you go. Why the fruit shelf looks small in winter: no berries, no peaches, just oranges and apples and pears. That’s not scarcity. That’s honesty.
A tomato in August and a tomato in January are not the same object. Italians know it, so the kitchen bends to the calendar instead of fighting it. Artichoke in spring, mushroom in fall — same kitchen, different month.
It sounds limiting. It’s the opposite. Every ingredient shows up at its peak, and nothing has to be forced to taste like something it isn’t.
