As the legend goes, two retired beer enthusiasts were learning how to brew in an outdoor shower. One day, an argument started about what to throw in the mix. During the argument, one of their wives told them that they sound like a couple of Grumpy Old Men. Grumpy Old Men Brewing was officially established on July 4th, 2013 when those same grumpy old men shipped their first legal brew. Their beers quick became a staple of the North Georgia beer scene. When they decided they were ready to retire again, the two Grumpy Old Men handed over the taps to a new grumpy old man and his crabby old lady. The two original grumpy old men still enjoy the beer, just from the other side of the bar. Since our founding in 2013, we strive to bring people together over delicious beer and unique community. With 24 taps, you'll be able to have one of our flagships, like Choco Blanco White Chocolate Wheat Ale, Scentsation Double IPA, or Hell's Holler Porter, or try one our seasonal rotations. Whether you're just learning to love craft beer or have been drinking for decades, we will be sure to have something on tap that you'll love. Our mission statement will always remain the same. If we don't like it,

"THE FLAAAAVOR!" 😮‍💨😎

Here's the story of how Grumpy Old Men Brewing SCENTSATION DOUBLE IPA came into this world from Grumpy owner, Jeff.

"As best as I can remember…In late 2018 we were looking for an IPA that was more citrusy to go up against our very malty Grasshoppa. Alan of Angry Hops Brewing, who used to brew with us, had a recipe he had been working on. After some discussion and slight tweaking we went with it. Not too long after brewing it I sat down with our brewer Daniel, now the owner of Pendley Creek Brewing Company, and we changed up the hops and the timing of when they went into the mix (the hop regimen). A few years later it went through one more tweak and that is how it remained. It is pretty much the opposite of Grasshoppa, our original IPA. Interesting fact, Alan’s mother in law came up with the name Scentsation."🪄🎯

If you haven't tried our SCENTSATION DOUBLE IPA, we recommend it. Not just because we created it, but because it is a damn good b**r. 😮‍💨

BARKTOBERFEST is today! 🍂🐶

Join us at Grumpy Old Men Brewing today from 12:30PM - 6:30 PM for the 12th Annual Barktoberfest, with all proceeds benefiting Humane Society of Blue Ridge!

The long awaited Great Pupkin Ale will be tapped, a 50/50 raffle, silent auction, event tees, food from Scrappy’s Dog House and live music all afternoon!

Rick MacConnell plays from 12:30 - 2:30 PM, followed by Travis Bowlin from 3 - 6:30 PM.

Admission is free, dogs are welcome and the event is rain or shine!

Come spend your Sunday at Grumpy’s and help us raise some money for the animals in our care. We’ll see you there!
