Candi Jenkins is an up-and-coming roots artist making a name for herself with classic yet modern songwriting that blends traditional country, Appalachian bluegrass, and Americana. As Candi puts it, “I couldn’t find the type of country I wanted to hear, so I started making it myself.”

Though she claims Lexington, Kentucky as home, her roots also stretch through Louisville, southern Indiana, Canada, and Southeastern Kentucky. After moving to Kentucky, Candi found a deeper connection to her Appalachian heritage, saying, “Appalachian music is in my blood in a way that is beyond surroundings. It is a part of me.” She explores that connection in her song “God Don’t Care.”

Candi has quickly built momentum on the road, opening for acts like Clay Street Unit and Andy Frasco, with upcoming shows alongside Benjamin Tod. She appeared at South by Southwest in 2025 and Luck Reunion in 2026.

Currently, Candi is recording her debut album with Andrija Tokic at The Bomb Shelter. New music from the record is set to be released this summer.
With a growing social media presence, prolific songwriting, and magnetic live performances, Candi Jenkins is steadily building a loyal fanbase and emerging as a fresh voice in modern roots music.

It really made us happy.

Thanks for all the outpouring of support for the little hotdog cave. We are having a blast trying to keep up. Also,The Lake Lemon Sessions were a dream.

We will be pairing down the hotdog menu this week to give us some space to get creative. Orbit wants to revisit some of our fave dishes and toppings. Toyota Camry, anyone???

Also, Bands have been inquiring about the calendar.. It is the opposite of full, so please reach out. Apologies in advance if you have to follow up for a response.

Thank You Bloomington!

Wow, Hard to believe exactly 8 years ago we were busy tearing out layers of old flooring + walls, fixing plumbing, and finding some amazing contractors to help us build what is now The Orbit Room.

That makes it even more bittersweet that we are announcing today that we will be closing at the end of July, 2026.

Thank you all so much for supporting this community space. We've made some great memories and have had a long run, so it's hard to be completely sad. Orbit will still be producing and participating in events around town throughout the rest of 2026, come see us at Lake Lemon, Taste, and Badknees. Over the next two months we have some great shows booked; so please come in and bid us adieu.
