Torta Thursday is here, mi gente!! 🇲🇽🥑🔥

Today’s feature: our Torta estilo Matamoros es un ode to the legendary tacos de Matamoros, Tamaulipas.

House-marinated bistec, refried black beans, avocado, queso fresco, onion, cilantro, and salsa verde taquera on a toasted bolillo, served with lime and our house escabeche.

A little frontera vibe with a whole lotta sabor.

¿Qué’habido mi gente? ☀️

If you know, you know 🤠Sunday’s brunch 🍳recommendation is our build-your-own breakfast torta with refried beans, scrambled eggs, machacado, pico de gallo, and a side of salsa roja. 🤌🏽

Our machacado is right now sourced from Paras, Nuevo León, un pueblito in northern México where my maternal grandparents are from. It’s made the traditional artisanal way, and every bite takes me right back to my childhood.

Growing up, one of my many favorite breakfasts was machacado con huevo a la mexicana, a classic from the Nuevo León region. This is our torta version of that beloved breakfast, en un bolillo tostado and made to order.

¿Qué’habidoo, mi gente? 🤠

June’s Torta of the Month:
Patty Melt Torta takes everything we love about a classic diner burger and give it a little attitude. We start with a bolillo toasted in clarified butter, then stack it with a Texas beef patty, smoked ham, costra de queso, griddled onions, refried black beans, and our house-made hibiscus y chile morita ketchup.
It is smokey and cheesy and beefy with just the right kick.

Then we press it until golden and crunchy, patty melt style, like, it reminds you of that diner.

Introducing La Tejana Melt, our June Torta of the Month.
A patty melt that took a wrong turn and ended up on a bolillo: beef patty, smoked ham, griddled onions, refried black beans, crispy and melty costra cheese, and morita hibiscus ketchup.
Un poquito Texas. Un poquito México. Muy Tejana.
Some things deserve a second round.
