Certified Peer Support Worker (CPSW) – Part-Time
Albuquerque, New Mexico
The New Mexico Peer Coalition/Soul Recovery Café is seeking an experienced Certified Peer Support Worker (CPSW) to join our peer-run recovery community. This part-time position is ideal for someone who believes deeply in the power of lived experience, mutual support, connection, and multiple pathways to recovery.
The CPSW will work alongside our peer team to create a welcoming, relationship-centered environment where community members can connect, build recovery capital, and find meaningful support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support and co-facilitate peer-run Recovery Circles, groups, and activities within the Recovery Café model.
* Build authentic, strengths-based relationships with members using peer support principles and appropriate self-disclosure.
* Connect members with recovery, behavioral health, housing, employment, harm reduction, and other community resources.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with peer organizations, recovery programs, referral partners, and community resources throughout Albuquerque and New Mexico.
* Represent NMPC and Soul Recovery Café at community events, outreach activities, resource fairs, and collaborative meetings.
* Help create a welcoming, inclusive, trauma-responsive, and recovery-centered Café environment.
* Maintain appropriate peer boundaries, confidentiality, and adherence to the New Mexico CPSW Code of Ethics.
Qualifications:
* Current New Mexico Certified Peer Support Worker (CPSW) certification required.
* Previous experience providing peer support; 2+ years preferred.
* Strong working knowledge of recovery resources and community services in Albuquerque and throughout New Mexico.
* Demonstrated ability to build trusting, mutual relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and recovery pathways.
* Experience facilitating or co-facilitating peer groups strongly preferred.
* Reliable, collaborative, and comfortable working independently in community settings.
* Some evening and/or weekend availability may be required for groups and community events.
Compensation: $25/hour up to 20 hours per week.
Schedule: Part-time; flexible schedule based on program and community needs.
We are especially interested in someone who understands that peer support is not about fixing people—it is about walking alongside them, building connection, sharing hope, and creating space for people to define recovery for themselves.
