Forever a Hero in my eyes 😘

Many of you know Aldrin as the chef behind Hapunan, but I have the privilege of knowing the man behind it all. The countless early mornings, late nights, sacrifices, hard work, and unwavering dedication that have helped build not only our business, but the life we’re creating together 🫶🏼 (for the past 15 years in fact)

His greatest achievements (tho he will never admit to it 🥹) will always be the impact he has on the people around him. His kindness, generosity, leadership, and determination inspire everyone lucky enough to know him.

Thank you for pouring your heart into everything you do, for believing in our dreams, and for never giving up even when the road gets tough.

We’re incredibly proud to share that we’ve once again been recognised in the Iconic Auckland Eats 2026 🏆 and this year, our Adobo Del Diablo has landed in the Top 5 BEST DISHES in all of Auckland 🙌🏻 🇵🇭🥇

What started as a bold, slightly controversial take on showcasing Filipino classics still proves to continue to open minds and win hearts 🫶🏼
From the early days of doubt & criticism to now standing alongside some of the best chefs in the city… it honestly feels still surreal for us 🥲

Going up against thousands of incredible operators every year is no small feat, and to still be here evolving, pushing boundaries, and representing Filipino flavours in a modern way is something we’ll never take for granted 🙏🏼

Aldrin, the mastermind behind it all, took a risk years ago to break the mould and tell his story through food. After a few weeks of trialing… we’re excited to say we’ve locked in our set hours 📣

4pm – 8pm (Dinner)

That means you can get your Filipino 🙌🏻 fix both day and night 😉

We’re honestly so grateful to have found this tiny little hole-in-the-wall in the heart of the city. It’s not big, it’s not fancy… but it’s ours, and it’s perfect for us 👌🏻

Like Gordon Ramsay says “the best food comes out of the smallest kitchens”… and we stand by that 🫡

We’re officially OPEN TOMORROW for our second site launch right in the heart of Auckland City!

This week is our trial opening only & here’s the schedule for this week 👇🏼

🍽 LUNCH ONLY

We’re easing into our new space, running through logistics, finding our rhythm, and getting everything just right before the full launch 🫡

Plus we’re still wrapping up our food truck season with all our booked in private events & market dates (as we didn’t have an expansion on our cards for this year 😅) but we had a little window this week and thought… why not start feeding our CBD crowd already?

It’ll just be me & Aldrin holding it down this week, so if you’re nearby please swing through, say hi 👋🏻 and show some love 🤎🇵🇭
We’d genuinely appreciate any feedback or suggestions too… As that’s what a soft opening is all about!

Our CBD spot will have regular locked in hours coming mid April once we wrap up the season with our little truck 😉
