A LITTLE GOODBYE, FOR NOW… 👋🏻

After much thought, Aldrin and I have made the tough decision to temporarily close our C*D store as we take a step back, regroup and focus on getting our engine room back up and running as food truck season kicks into full swing!

With summer markets, wedding celebrations, Christmas parties and plenty of events on the horizon, it’s time for us to put our energy back into the wheels that started it all. 🚚

It certainly wasn’t an easy decision to make, and we’re incredibly grateful for all the love and support we’ve received city-side. From the familiar faces who popped in for their Filipino food fix to those who discovered us for the first time, thank you for welcoming us into your lunch breaks and making our little C*D space part of your routine.

But don’t cry just yet… you can wipe those tears! 🥹

You’ll still find us where it all happens, at our home in HUAPAI, and popping up at more locations as we travel around Auckland with the food truck, bringing Filipino flavours to summer markets and events!

This year has probably been one of our toughest yet, but with every challenge comes a lesson. It’s taught us a lot about ourselves, our business and where we want to go from here. Sometimes you have to take a step back to reset, refocus and make room for what’s next. And that’s exactly what we’re doing.

So, for now, it’s truly goodbye to our little city space. But certainly not goodbye to Hapunan in the city forever 🇵🇭

A massive thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way. We appreciate every single one of you more than you know 🫶🏼

After what feels like forever, Aldrin and I have finally packed our bags and headed off on a little family adventure ✈️

We’re currently exploring Japan 🇯🇵 for the next several days before making our way through Korea 🇰🇷 & Shanghai 🇨🇳, before eventually heading back home to kick off our FOOD TRUCK SUMMER SEASON 💪🏼

I’m not going to lie… this is a little nerve-racking for us because it’s actually the first time we’ve left Hapunan to run while we’re away 😅 We’re so used to being there every day, so handing over the reins and trusting our amazing team to hold down the fort at both C*D & Huapai HQ is definitely a new experience for us ✌🏼

But after 2 years without a proper holiday, we know it’s something we really needed 😌

So for the next little while, we’re going to try our best to switch off, spend some much-needed time together as a family, explore & most importantly EAT all the food we can and definitely come home feeling refreshed and ready for a huge summer 🤎

I’ll still be keeping an eye on our emails while we’re away, although replies might be a little slower than usual depending on Wi-Fi, time zones and how distracted I am by stuffing our faces 😅

Strong time management and the ability to perform under pressure.
A commitment to maintaining our high standards of quality and consistency.
Pride in contributing ideas while respecting established recipes and kitchen procedures.
Experience with food preparation, stock rotation, and minimising food waste.
Flexibility to work across both our Huapai restaurant and food truck when required.
