You already know we love Yunnan coffee.

This month we’re bringing you a first look at the 2026 Best of Yunnan; a lineup of some of the most exciting coffees coming out of origin right now!

We’ll be cupping 100+ coffees with our community across the motu with sessions in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch. Taste clean washed classics to experimental ferments! It’ll be alot of fun!

And this is just the beginning - we’re launching our Harvest Tour to Yunnan to experience it all at origin.

Big thanks to for organising, hosting, and the epic prizes, and to for the competition coffee and extra goodies.

Another round of DBBC done and dusted, bringing together an awesome mix of brewers, home brewers and baristas side by side, all on an even playing field.

That’s what DBBC is about: good people, great coffee, and just giving it a go. No fancy gear, no pressure, just brewing, tasting, and enjoying the process.

You’ve both secured your place in the Grand Finals this December, competing for an unforgettable origin trip to Yunnan, harvest season right at the source 🌱🇨🇳

Alright Brewers - next stop: Christchurch.

The Drip Bag Brewers Championship is landing in Ōtautahi, and we’re looking for the city’s best cup from a drip bag. Simple format, serious skill. Grind is already locked in - so it all comes down to your water ratio, timing, agitation, and control.

You’ll be judged on:
– Aroma
– Flavour
– Mouthfeel
– Aftertaste

No fancy gear. Just technique.

To get dialled in, grab a practice pack online or in-store at Opal HQ. It contains 3 competition day drip bags!!
Practice packs will be landing at select cafés across Christchurch, more details coming as they drop.

Get your practise in and rock up on the day.
