The Bernard Shaw

The Bernard Shaw www.thebernardshaw.com Open 7 days a week. Bar. Cafe. Creative Space.... As promoters, music is our first love and putting on parties and events is our job.

Musically, we cover a lot of bases. We have DJs and bands playing across the board from house to jazz to grime, roots reggae to disco, hip hop to rock. Events-wise, on any given day you could walk into a back yard market, an exhibition launch, a marathon 10hr set from a Detroit DJ legend, a hot-tub party, fresh pizza on a double decker bus, an Italian breakfast, a live show from emerging Dublin ba

nds, graffiti battles, sunshine sangrias in the yard, or even just a simple pint of plain and a chat.

The Comfy Jam is back this weekend in Racket. Smooth sounds and soft vibes as the trio perform a variety of genres and improvised music alongside friends, musicians and artists. Pop in if that sounds up your alley

Having risen from the ashes of Bernard Shaw’s legendary Disco E Cultura parties on Dublin’s south side, it’s only fitting that Different Rhythm is bringing that vibe to the new Beatyard at Cross Guns Bridge with a series of extended vinyl-only Sunday sessions
The first edition welcomes two of Dublin’s finest record collectors as guests to the yard.

Hewan Mulugeta, originally from Ethiopia, is renowned for her deep knowledge of her homeland’s rich musical heritage. Alongside her unrivaled collection of Ethiopian wax, she brings an expansive selection of records from across Africa and beyond.
Joining her is French native Cyriac, host of the excellent The Main Ingredient on DDR. Driven by a bottomless thirst for musical discovery, his sets span genres and regions but with special mention for his forays into music from the Nordeste of Brazil, and the caribbean islands of Martinique & Guadeloupe.

Hosts Pablo Santo & Mick T-Woc round out the party with selections from their respective crates of South American, Caribbean, African and global grooves. In short; six hours of excellent records and vibes on a Sunday. 4–10pm, with no gate tax!

The crew are back on Friday for another foray into all things disco and funk. Their mantra is ‘putting the focus back on the dancefloor’, which they certainly did last time around with some sick art installations and big disco decor. Highly recommend popping into this one
