The name Cloud Picker came from our

trip to Northern Thailand where we visited a coffee farm in the Doi Chang area on the Thai / Burma border and where we went up through the clouds to see the coffee pickers!

Most Ethiopian coffee reaches you as a blend of hundreds of farmers. This one has a single name on it.

Meet Alemayehu Hillo Meko. He started with two hectares, the plot his father left him after splitting the family farm between six sons. He bought neighbouring land bit by bit until he owned 6.55 hectares in Sidama. In 2020 he got his own export license, something Ethiopian farmers have only been able to do since 2017.

A natural, dried on 120 raised beds and turned six times a day for three weeks. Best brewed as filter.

Every bag we roast starts with a decision someone made on a farm months ago.

When to pick. Which cherries. How long to dry. The person in this photo has forgotten more about coffee than most of us will ever learn.

We stood in the Brazilian sun and watched these choices happen with our own eyes, and it changed everything. Now, every time we sip our own roast, we’re right back there on the farm.

Specialty isn't a label we put on a bag. It's the sum of a thousand small choices made by people who care, long before it reaches Dublin.
