Baggotonia Festival is this weekend, and Schoolhouse is excited to be hosting several of their events! Visual arts fans, these are for you >>
Baggotonia Festival is an annual celebration of the community, history, arts, culture, entertainment, and people in the area surrounding Baggot Street Bridge, known as Baggotonia.
Harry Kernoff was one of the most distinctive visual chroniclers of Irish life in the twentieth century. In this illustrated talk, writer and cultural coordinator Vitor Vicente explores Kernoff’s deep connection with Dublin and Irish culture - from the streets, pubs, and people he painted to his engagement with Irish literature, theatre, and the cultural life of the city.
Taking place this Saturday in our blue room from 4:30pm-5:30pm, this event is free and open to anyone - we hope to see you there!
Baggotonia’a Plein air painting competition takes place on Sunday 20th September along the canal banks, or anywhere else in the Baggot Street neighbourhood where contestants are inspired to paint.
Registration takes place at Schoolhouse at 10am and the awards ceremony will start at 2pm in our garden.
