Mohács 500 - 1526. augusztus 29. nem csak egy elvesztett csata emléke. Mohács a magyar történelem egyik legmélyebb töréspontja lett – de nem a végpontja.
Mert a magyarságot meg lehet sebezni, próbára lehet tenni idegen hatalmak elnyomásával, zsarnoksággal, de a közösség hite, élni akarása és az igazság újra és újra utat talál a történelemben.
Ötszáz év távlatából Mohács arra tanít bennünket, hogy a múlt terheit nem felejteni kell, hanem megérteni. Hogy okuljunk a hibáinkból, őrizzük azt, ami összeköt, és legyen erőnk továbbépíteni azt, amit elődeink ránk bíztak.
Mohács 500 – emlékezzünk a múltra, hogy legyen jövőnk.
Mohács 500 – August 29, 1526 is not merely the memory of a lost battle. Mohács became one of the deepest turning points in Hungarian history – but not its endpoint.
For the Hungarian people can be wounded and tested by the oppression of foreign powers and by tyranny, but the faith of the community, its will to live, and the pursuit of truth find their way through history time and again.
Five hundred years on, Mohács teaches us that we should not forget the burdens of the past, but understand them. That we should learn from our mistakes, preserve what unites us, and have the strength to continue building upon what our ancestors entrusted to us.
