We couldn’t let summer pass without a little Clumps fun…

Join us on Friday 11th September as we hold a little Cocktail on the Clumps event at the Earth Trust’s Wittenham Clumps. We’ll be back at the top of the hill serving a menu of seasonal cocktails and with a few snacks to buy too. The perfect way to round off the summer and welcome in autumn. Plus, with a percentage of each drink sold going to help the Earth Trust’s important work, you’re having fun and doing good at the same time.

See you on the hill.

Last night we held a very special supper club up at our friends, JoJos Vineyard. Ian and Tess had the bubbles flowing as they shared their passion for their land and English wine, and Aimee Collins cooked a menu of seasonal and local food, including stuffed vine leaves from JoJo’s own vines - food metres, not food miles. All served at long tables, family style, where conversation flowed and connections were made.

It was an evening that reminded us how lucky we are to call this corner of South Oxfordshire home. It is a beautiful part of the world, with brilliant food and drink, and getting to share it with you at events like this is what makes our hearts sing.

Who’s keen for us to do another one? A harvest feast, perhaps?

It’s a scorcher today, gang. But make sure the only ones with blistered skin are the Cornish sardines from this fishy special from . Served with focaccia and a caponata packed full of local veg, it’s a terrific lunch to tuck into in our air-conditioned restaurant. Open from 12, walk ins welcome, link to book in bio.

A few snaps from last night’s floristry workshop in our walled garden with Sophie from .

We’ve worked with Sophie since day one, and her annual wreath making workshop is perhaps our fastest-selling event, so we were thrilled to welcome her back for a summer event too. Sophie led the small group in how to create a floral bowl arrangement, using her homegrown stems, before a two course supper cooked by .

We’re gearing up for a busy end to the year with lots of events on the horizon, and to hear about them first make sure you’re signed up to our newsletter.

“It was like being at a 5-star restaurant with the comforts of being at home.”

On Saturday, we ran another Free Range Pigs event, for a brilliant 60th birthday party in Brightwell.

Canapés for 40 people, before a sit down sharing lunch, all cooked over fire (we want one of these grills in our garden 😍). Dishes included rare roast beef, rabbit cooked with rosé, a huge homemade carrot cake, and then an espresso martini bar too.

Fancy adding a little Pigs magic to your birthday, party or wedding? Get in touch via the Free Range Pigs section of our website or email us at [email protected]

There was a big hole left in our hearts (and our menus) when one of our favourites upped-goats for the greener pastures of wales.

Put simply, there is nothing else like Norton and Yarrow Cheese out there. And so, with a very special event this weekend, requiring nothing but the best goat curd, we thought it was time to get a massive box of our favourite cheeses across the border. You can expect to see it on a few specials or short-run dishes over the coming weeks, until it runs out 🤷🏼‍♀️ keep your eyes peeled- we have a few ideas cooking away 💚

Oh, and how beautiful is their new branding from Lilly Hedley ❤️

Join us on Thursday 8th October as we host our second collaboration supper with the team from Wallingford’s Corn Exchange Cinema.

The Corn Exchange are showing ‘Tony’, the new biopic of food writer, chef and TV star, Anthony Bourdain, a man who inspired countless readers and viewers to fall in love with the worlds of good food and restaurants. In short, our sort of guy.

For one evening one, we’re turning Pigs into a version of ‘Les Halles’, Bourdain’s famed Manhattan restaurant, and we’ll be serving a menu inspired by some of his most famous dishes. Tickets for the evening are £52pp, including two course supper, takeaway dessert, and cinema ticket for Tony - begins 7.30pm.

Summer evenings mean our Aimee Collins heads out with her family for a little foraging. The current favourite in the Collins household is cherry plums, with this little crop finding their way into Pigs today. Some will be jammed, some infused in brandy, and some transformed into a whey and cherry plum cordial for our upcoming cocktail bar at Nettlebed Creamery. All going on.

Forget a ‘Hugo’ or even an Aperol, this is your new favourite spritz for the summer. Italian Italicus liqueur, a rhubarb and meadowsweet syrup, and Prosecco. Garnished with sprig or rosemary and lime, it’s classy and dangerously moreish. One of the new drinks on the latest seasonal cocktail menu.

Perfect with an early pre-football supper tomorrow. Link to nab a table in our bio.
