And that’s a wrap… for tonight! 🩷

We’ve set places, made spaces, hoovered, blown up balloons and done our very best to turn Calme into a pretty pink space ready to welcome you all tomorrow.

Is it finished? Of course not. 😂
We’ll be back in bright and early in the morning for the final bits, the food, the fussing and, most importantly, getting those teapots ready! 🫖🩷

Just a little reminder for everyone joining us tomorrow…

Blossom Boutique next door will be open from 11am until 2pm, with lots going on to help us raise even more.

Hayley’s reps and suppliers at Blossom Boutique have been unbelievably generous with prizes and I mean UNBELIEVABLY, as have our friends and customers and we’re so grateful to everyone who has helped us make this happen. 🙏🏼

A particularly HUGE thank you to The Shard Riverside Inn Hambleton. Once again, my lovely Shard family have looked out for me and very kindly donated a voucher. I’m really, really grateful for their continued support. 🩷

So if you’re coming to the Afternoon Tea, feel free to arrive in time for a little visit to Blossom before 2pm — but leave us at Calme until the last minute! 😂 Give us every precious minute to get ourselves prepped, pretty and ready for you, with the teapots on the tables. 🤗🤪🙌

Tomorrow is about so much more than afternoon tea. It’s about friendship, support, hope and a room full of women coming together for all the right reasons.

We’ve been collecting your unwanted bras for donation and it’s nearly time for us to weigh the whole lot in and get them sent off.

So ladies… if you’ve got a bra, BRING IT! 😂

Yours, your mum’s, your sister’s, your neighbour’s — anyone’s unwanted bras! Have a rummage through those drawers tonight and bring them along with you tomorrow.

Our last Introduction to Whittling was such a lovely evening, and after so many of you who couldn’t get booked on asked when we were doing another one, we added a date and that filled up lol so here is another one! 🙌

📅 Tuesday 13th October
⏰ 6.30pm–8.30pm

If you missed your place last time, book now or you might miss your slot again!

We deliberately keep this workshop small, with just 8 places available, so that everyone gets the very best tuition, guidance and individual attention from Ron. It makes such a difference when you’re learning a new skill — there’s plenty of time to ask questions, get help and really enjoy the experience.

And can we just say how brilliant it was to see some gents joining us at our last workshop! So come on chaps… let’s be ’aving you! 😂
Phil will be joining this one too, so come along and keep him company. 🙏🏼🤗

So under the guidance of our wonderful tutor Ron, you’ll be introduced to whittling and learn new skills and techniques as you transform a simple piece of wood into your very own beautiful wooden heart.

There’s something quite magical about watching it slowly take shape in your hands — smoothing it, shaping it and creating something that, once finished, you genuinely won’t be able to stop touching! The smooth wood feels absolutely beautiful.

No previous experience needed. Ron will guide you through it, all the tools and materials are provided, and of course there’ll be tea, coffee and biccies too. ☕️🍪

A couple of hours away from everything else, learning something new, having a laugh and going home saying…

“I made that.” ❤️🪵

Good morning 💗

It’s 6am and I’m heading off to Calme to blow up balloons and start doing what currently feels slightly impossible… but, for all the right reasons, we’re going to make it possible.

Because tomorrow, 32 incredible ladies will be joining us for our Breast Cancer Support Pink Afternoon Tea. 💗

Thirty-two ladies choosing to spend their Sunday afternoon with us, helping us raise money, raise awareness and, just as importantly, show support.

We’re collaborating with our lovely neighbours at Blossom Boutique on this one, and they have added some AMAZING prizes to our cause — so many, in fact, that tomorrow they’ll be hosting the raffle, tombola and sweetie stall next door from 11am–2pm.

So if you’re joining us, come a little early if you fancy your chances! 🎟️🍬

And now for my little 6am worry list… 😂

The crockery for 32 ladies may not all match.

It’s going to be busy and cosy. (Aka warm) 🥵

It will probably be a little hectic.

But we’ll get there. We always do. 💗

More than anything, I hope our ladies understand the magnitude of what they’re helping us achieve tomorrow and just how grateful we — and the charities who will benefit — are for every single bit of support.

And if you happen to fancy washing a few cups while you’re here… feel free. 😂

Good morning and happy Friday ❤️🐾

It’s been a fabulous week meeting new tutors and filling that diary and we are delighted to at last share our November date for Sunday Paws – our Pooch Café!

🐾 Sunday 15th November
⏰ 10.30am–1.30pm

Think of it as a little Sunday social for our pooches… with their humans very welcome to tag along too! 😂🐶

There’ll be puppuccinos made with goats’ milk, biccies, sausages and lots of opportunities for a good sniff, a wag and making a few new four-legged friends.

And we haven’t forgotten the humans! ☕️ We’ll have bacon & sausage butties, toasted teacakes with Irish or cinnamon butter, thick toast with marmalade or chocolate spread, plus teas, coffees and sweet treats as always and new LOWER prices on our cakes to take away for your Sunday lunch pud!

We’ll also have a little Life of Riley treats sale on the day, so you can stock up on a few goodies to take home. 🐾

It’s relaxed, friendly and absolutely not about having the best-behaved dog in the room — come as you are, paws and all. ❤️

Oh WOW… look at those colours! 💜💙🩷

The purples, peacock blues, turquoise and pink are absolutely gorgeous… and then Lindsay added that GOLD ✨✨ It just brings the whole painting to life!

And yes — this is the actual painting you’ll be creating at Calme.

Please don’t look at it and think “I could never paint that!” That’s exactly what Paintopia is all about. Lindsay will guide you through it step by step, so whether you paint regularly or haven’t picked up a brush since school, you can come along and have a go.

A couple of hours to switch off, have a cuppa, enjoy some lovely company and create something you’ll be genuinely proud to take home. 🦚✨

We will now officially be celebrating St Patrick’s Day at Calme Nest! 🇮🇪💚

Shamrocks & Shenanigans is coming on Wednesday 17th March 2027 — an evening of Irish music, warming Irish stew, nibbles on the tables and, of course, plenty of laughs and good company.

Come with friends, come on your own, sit back and enjoy the shenanigans or get involved — completely up to you. 💚

We are fast hurtling towards the weekend and our first Breast Cancer Support event at Calme. 🎀

This is the first of three special events we are hosting to raise money for breast cancer charities. 💗

So here’s a message to everyone joining us for Afternoon Tea this Sunday…

If you’re coming as part of a group and would like to sit together, please drop me a little message. Just one person from each group needs to message with the names, and we’ll do our best to seat you together.

🫖 Afternoon Tea begins at 2pm - the kettles will be on the tables at 2 💖

You’re very welcome to arrive a little earlier to visit Blossom Boutique before you visit us 💕

There’ll be a raffle, grid, tombola and, I believe, our lovely granddaughters are hosting a sweetie stall too! 🍬💗

You don’t need to be booked onto the Afternoon Tea to pop into Blossom Boutique from 11am to support the fundraising, have a go on the stalls or simply browse, you’ll be very welcome.

It’s going to be a lovely day — lots of pink, cake, chatter and hopefully lots of money raised for some very worthwhile breast cancer charities. 🎀💗
