Well, this was a rather lovely thing to read today! ❤️

We had the absolute pleasure of hosting Robertsbridge Cricket Club for their end-of-season awards dinner last night, and what a wonderful evening it was!

A huge thank you to the club for choosing to celebrate with us, for being such fantastic guests and for taking the time to share these lovely words.

And an equally huge thank you to our brilliant George team, both in the kitchen and front of house, who worked their socks off to make the evening a success. We’re very lucky to have you all!

It’s evenings like these that remind us what a village pub is all about. ❤️

Here’s to another great cricket season next year! 🏏🍻

Oh my goodness, what a fabulous evening at last night.

The perfect place to celebrate our End of season awards, right in the heart of our village.

Your staff were amazing, attentive, organised and bloody hardworking! The food was delicious, the communication was clear, and Sue was just fabulous. We felt so welcome and left with happy hearts and very full bellies…of food AND booze!

A huge thank you to all of your incredible team for making our evening so special.

We’re so lucky to have wonderful local businesses on our doorstep. Supporting local means helping keep places like this at the heart of Robertsbridge, and what a joy it is when they look after you so brilliantly! ❤️

A little message from Sue after her first night…

What a lovely first evening at The George!

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who came in tonight and made me feel so incredibly welcome.

The pub was buzzing, and it was wonderful to meet so many lovely locals, have a chat and start putting faces to names!

I’m really looking forward to getting to know you all properly over the coming weeks and becoming part of The George family.

Thank you again for such a warm welcome. I couldn’t have asked for a better start!

🔥 First fire of the season! 🔥

Is it too early? Yes.

Is it too warm? Also yes.

But are we lighting it anyway because one of our favourite customers is feeling under the weather and requested it? A big, fat, happy YES. ❤️

Will we all be hot and miserable? Absolutely.

Will he be happy? Well… probably not. Apparently the logs are too small, the kindling is rubbish and no doubt he’ll find something else to complain about. 😂

But you can’t say we don’t try!
