🎂🍄 CAKETOBER – DAY 28 🍄🎂

It had to make an appearance… Mario! ⭐️

This was one of those cakes that was absolutely packed with colour and detail — Mario, Luigi, racing karts, rainbow roads, stars, shells and all those little bits that bring the whole theme together. 🏎️🌈

Definitely not a quick cake to make, but such a fun one to look back on!

This one was just too cute not to include! 🐷🐮🐑🐴🐥

A farm themed cake for Alfie & Lennie’s 2nd birthday — two cakes joined together with a little bridge and a whole farmyard full of handmade characters.

I love cakes like this where there are lots of little details to make — from the tractor and stables to the tiny ducks on the pond. 🦆🚜

Definitely one of those cakes where there’s something different to spot wherever you look!

🎂💗 CAKETOBER – DAY 26 💗🎂

Yesterday was Dad’s turn, so today it has to be Mum’s! ❤️

Mum’s birthday always seems to fall at one of my busiest times of the year, so in the past I haven’t always managed to make her a cake.

But when she turned 80, I decided I was going to make a special effort to create something for her every year. ❤️

For her 80th, she had a patchwork owl cake 🦉 and this year, something completely different — a pretty fault line cake with delicate flowers. 🌸💕

Two very different cakes, both made with love and especially for Mum. ❤️

My Dad’s turn today ❤️

I only started making birthday cakes for Dad when he turned 80, but I’ve managed to fit a few very ‘Dad’ cakes in since then!

We’ve had meerkats, Liquorice Allsorts, a koi pond and, most recently for his 84th birthday, a bird box complete with its little resident. 🐦

I love looking back at these because, just like the cakes I’ve made for my children, each one has been chosen around something he likes.

🎂💕 BACK TO A FULL WORKING WEEK! 💕🎂

After a difficult few weeks of illness, a family bereavement and dealing with various school issues with my daughter, I made the decision to take a little step back from Cake Utopia.

I’ve still been busy behind the scenes and have made a few cakes along the way, but I’ve not been taking on quite as much as I normally would.

Sometimes family and life have to come first. ❤️

But I’m pleased to say that I’m back to a full working week this week! 🎂

It’s time to get back into the swing of things, catch up on everything and get back to doing what I love.

Thank you to everyone for their patience and understanding over the last few weeks. It’s very much appreciated. 💕
