Throwback to the 1970s when the bridge was still rising over the Tay. Cranes in the sky, steel going up, and the river as busy as ever.

If you look closely, you can spot the old Tay Salmon Netting Station, a place once filled with the rhythm of the nets and the stories of the river.

Fast‑forward to today, and that very spot is now The Willowgate Café — still by the water, still part of Perth’s riverside life, but with coffee, cakes, and kayaks instead of salmon nets.

Amazing how the river keeps its soul even as the years roll on.
