As we welcome the New Year, we would like to take a moment to express our sincere thanks to all our customers for your continued support throughout the past few months. Pub Chef – Vacancy

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Pub Chef to join the kitchen team at our established British pub. This role is ideal for a professional chef who takes pride in producing high-quality, traditional pub cuisine and maintaining excellent kitchen standards.

Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and service of freshly prepared pub dishes, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance with food safety regulations. You will play a key role in the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a consistently high standard
• Adhere to all food hygiene, health, and safety regulations
• Manage stock levels, ordering, and food rotation
• Minimise waste and maintain cost control
• Ensure cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen at all times
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver excellent service

Candidate Requirements
• Proven experience as a chef within a pub or similar hospitality environment
• Strong knowledge of traditional British pub cuisine
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and to deadlines
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (essential or willingness to obtain)
• A professional attitude and strong work ethic

The most famous connection between “coronation” and curry is Coronation Chicken, created for the 1953 coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
Although the official recipe called it Poulet Reine Elizabeth, the dish is essentially a cold chicken salad in a lightly spiced, curry-based sauce.

We have coronation chicken curry on our menu this Friday for Chippy night! A taste of nostalgic British history at its best!
