A day where wine, food and tradition all came together. ✨
This week we visited Château l’Ermite d’Auzan in the heart of Costières de Nîmes, and it really was something special.
Walking through old Grenache vines planted decades ago, seeing biodynamic winemaking up close, herbs drying in the cellar and learning about the estate’s approach - it really brought home how much happens before a bottle ever leaves the vineyard. Add in food cooked over an open fire and it felt like a full experience rather than just a visit.
The standout moment was definitely the fresh mussels cooked over vine wood embers, paired with wines made just a few metres away. Nothing overcomplicated- just great ingredients, proper craft and generations of knowledge behind it.
What stuck with us most was the passion in everything. Every row of vines, every detail in the cellar, every glass poured had a sense of care and respect for the land and what it produces.
Days like this are a good reminder that hospitality isn’t just food and drink- it’s stories, place and people all coming together.
Thank you to the team at Château l’Ermite d’Auzan for an unforgettable day. 🫶🏼
