For more than 160 years the company has not only created and developed award winning beer, but also served the community of which it forms a part of. It has built sustainable jobs and worked with charities to deliver substantial benefits to people living in the brewery’s area of operations and beyond. Established in 1849, Joseph Holt Ltd has been managed by its founding family for five generations

. Throughout that time the company has been driven by traditions of professionalism, honesty and innovation. So the business, although rooted in the traditional values of a family firm with a reputation built on traditional draft and bottled beer, has always looked to evolve. The most recent developments in that evolution are the Crystal and Diamond range of lagers and the Golden Ale Two Hoots. These products join the collection of award winning lagers and excellent Smooth and Black keg beer. The brewery has an established pub estate that is carefully managed to ensure that it is focused on growth.

This month it goes to The Fairway Inn, New Moston! 🎉

Val is a shining example of a manager who puts her heart into her community, she holds weekly inclusive events ensuring that all customers know that they have a safe and welcoming space at The Fairway Inn. Val is always the first to step up and raise awareness for local causes or local groups who need an extra boost and supports them with fundraising events; alongside this, with her guidance, The Fairway Inn has raised thousands over the years for various Joseph Holt charity appeals. ✨

Over the four years she has been at The Fairway Inn, Val has changed the reputation of the pub for the better, her standards are impeccable throughout the pub and the hotel. She is always looking for ways to grow and develop the business, which this year will include the extension of the outdoor seating area. Val is also an advocate for developing her team members, this year alone she has trained two assistants to the level where they have now progressed to be Pub Managers within the Joseph Holt estate. Val really is an asset to both Joseph Holt and her community. 🛌🍺
