The Old Wellington, a historic pub nestled in the heart of Manchester's city centre, is a true testament to the city's rich heritage. With its origins dating back to 1552, it stands as the oldest building of its kind in Manchester, offering a glimpse into the city's captivating past. Originally a draper's shop owned by the Byrom family, it later transformed into a licensed public house in 1830. One remarkable aspect of The Old Wellington is its relocation in 1998 as part of a redevelopment project. This Grade II listed, half-timbered building was meticulously dismantled and moved approximately 100m from its original location, preserving its historical significance. Today, visitors have the opportunity to step inside this extraordinary piece of history and immerse themselves in the unique charm and character that has made The Old Wellington a cherished destination for both locals and tourists alike.
