🩵 Exciting times ahead for Long Eaton!
We had a fantastic catch-up today with Adam Thompson Adam Thompson MP and Rebecca Everett, reflecting on just how far the Long Eaton Business Partnership has come and, more importantly, where we’re heading next!
One of our biggest milestones is that we are now officially registered as a Community Interest Company (CIC)! 🎉
Just two days after the Budget, this marks an exciting new chapter, taking us from a group of passionate individuals to a recognised organisation with the structure to turn ideas into action and make a real difference in our town.
One of the most important topics we discussed was the results of a student survey carried out by Lizzie back in June.
Some of the feedback was difficult to hear. Young people expressed feeling “unsafe” in Long Eaton, with some saying there was “no reason” to stay in the town because there simply wasn’t enough for them to do.
That really struck a chord with us.
Our young people are the future of Long Eaton, and if they can’t see a future here, then we have a responsibility to help change that.
We’re already discussing plans to work more closely with local schools and businesses, helping young people discover opportunities, develop skills and find pathways into employment right here in OUR TOWN.
We see the potential in Long Eaton, and we want the next generation to see it too! 🩵
Another key focus is health and wellbeing on our high street.
In March 2026, Long Eaton Health Centre was named as one of England’s first 27 neighbourhood health centres, a hugely positive step towards making healthcare and wellbeing more accessible within our community.
For us, the Long Eaton Business Partnership is about so much more than supporting local businesses. It’s about creating a town where people feel safe, where young people see opportunities, where businesses thrive and where our community feels proud of the place we call home.
There’s still plenty of work to do, but we’re not just talking about change. We’re working towards making it happen.
