WOW… I’ve only just got round to listening to today’s answerphone messages! 🤯😂

We’d been told we’d reached the finalist stage of Takeaway of the Year at the Food Awards England… so obviously I didn’t quite believe what I was hearing and thought I’d better go and have a look for myself!

Turns out… WE’VE ACTUALLY MADE THE TOP 10! 😱🙌

I genuinely had absolutely no idea this was happening, so I’m currently trying to work out what on earth we’re supposed to do next! 😂🙈

Apparently we’ve somehow sneaked our little chippy into the Top 10 Takeaways in England and I’m still trying to get my head around it! 🥹❤️

So… keep your eyes peeled because clearly we’ve got some sort of adventure ahead of us, and I’ll let you know when I actually figure out what’s going on! 😂

🎄❤️ OVER 150 CHRISTMAS DINNERS… AND IT’S NOT EVEN OCTOBER! ❤️🎄

Honestly… WOW. 🥹

When we first started doing our free Christmas dinners, we never imagined they would grow into what they are today.

But here we are.

150 Christmas dinners ordered already… and we’re still in September! 🤯🎄

That’s 150 people who will have a hot, proper Christmas dinner waiting for them on Christmas Day.

150 people who will get a plate piled high with Christmas dinner and all the trimmings.

150 people who will hopefully have a knock at the door, a friendly face and a little bit of Christmas cheer.

And that last bit is what matters most to us. ❤️

Because Christmas isn't magical for everyone.

For some people, it can be incredibly lonely. For some, money is tight. For others, getting out and about or preparing a Christmas dinner simply isn't possible.

Nobody should feel forgotten on Christmas Day.

So our café will be closed to normal customers, but Fish Over Chips will still be very much open in spirit. 🎄

We’ll be cooking, packing, organising and delivering dinners across our community, making sure that as many people as possible can sit down to a hot Christmas dinner without worrying about the cost.

And we couldn't do it without you.

Every person who donates.
Every business that helps.
Every volunteer.
Every person who delivers.
Every customer who throws a few pounds into the pot.
Every person who shares our posts and helps spread the word.

You are the reason we can do this. ❤️

What started as a little idea has become something that genuinely belongs to our community.

And seeing 150 names already on that list has stopped us in our tracks😳

150 dinners. 150 people. And potentially 150 little moments of kindness on Christmas Day. 🎅🏼❤️

So from all of us at Fish Over Chips, thank you.

Thank you for helping us make sure that, even for one day, nobody in our community feels forgotten.

And if you thought we were finished…

🎄❤️ CHRISTMAS DAY AT FISH OVER CHIPS ❤️🎄

Well, here we go again… 🎅

We’re really pleased to say that our FREE Christmas Day dinners are going ahead again this year. 🍽️❤️

Christmas can be a lovely time, but we know that for some people in our local community, it can also be a very lonely or difficult day. And nobody should have to sit at home wondering where their Christmas dinner is coming from.

So, once again, we’ll be cooking up a proper Christmas dinner and bringing it to your door on Christmas Day. 🎄🍽️

We’ll be out delivering dinners around our local community with the wonderful help of our volunteers, and hopefully when we knock on your door, you’ll see a friendly face, have a little chat and feel a bit of that Christmas spirit. ❤️

There’s no shame, no judgement and no questions asked. If you, a neighbour, a friend, or someone you know could do with a Christmas dinner, please get in touch.

❤️ A MASSIVE THANK YOU! ❤️

We just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who waited so patiently with us last night! 🥹

Yet again, it was so lovely (and honestly pretty humbling) seeing so many of you waiting, being understanding and appreciating that we really are working as fast as humanly possible! ❤️

BUT… please remember to be nice 🙂

We can only cook so much at once! 🤦‍♀️😂

We try to cook everything as fresh as possible because we want to give you the best quality product, but unfortunately… fresh food takes time! 😂

Our pizzas are made fresh by hand, and yes, we really do roll out every single dough ball by hand 🍕. So when you order 8 pizzas in one go, it's going to take a little bit of time. We can't exactly fling 8 freshly made pizzas out in 5 minutes! 🤣

And the fish & chips are no different. We constantly have chips going through the fryers, but sometimes they are being sold faster than we can physically get the next batch through! 🍟😂

We know waiting isn't ideal, and we genuinely appreciate your patience while we work our way through the orders.

So thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who waited patiently, smiled, thanked the team and generally made a very busy night that little bit easier. ❤️

And a special shout-out to the absolute legends who brought us TREATS while they waited! 🥹🍫😂

Nothing quite boosts morale like snacks when you're staring down a never-ending queue! 😂

We really do appreciate every single one of you. ❤️
